Romantic Birthday Ideas To Try

Creating a memorable and special birthday celebration for someone you love needn’t cost the earth. It’s much more romantic, to create gifts and occasions that are meaningful and personal, than to throw money but little thought at a situation… anyone can do that! But if you use a bit of creativity and spend some time instead, you can do something far more significant and romantic. Here are some ideas…

Y Flowers are always romantic… find some local wildflowers, and present the birthday boy or girl tea or coffee in bed, with a small sprig in a vase on the tray.

Y Make a heart in the sand, with your names or initials, and photograph it. Don’t live near the beach? Ask someone who does, or create a task on http://www.fiverr.com/ as an easy way for somebody to earn a little cash.

Y Plan a picnic – far more romantic than a restaurant, and you can have far greater luxury for less spends… think about champagne, beautiful food (which you can get from a deli if you’re not a foodie), a venue that is meaningful and beautiful for you both.

Y Make a playlist, of your special music throughout your relationship. Your song from your first dating, music from your wedding, the songs in the charts when your babies were born… Burn it on a CD if they like CDs in the car, you can even design a slipcover…

Y Have a party! Even if they say they don’t want one, or you know you can’t afford one, just getting people together is so special. And if you make an effort to track down a long lost friend, or arrange something beautiful, they’ll remember it forever. It doesn’t have to be a big catered event, just meeting friends in a public bar will be huge fun.

Y Release some fire balloons. Very safely and carefully in a well-chosen location… write your romantic wishes for each other, and your relationship, then set them free into the skies…

Y If it’s a ‘big’ birthday, research some history – make a ‘This Is Your Life’ big red book, with anecdotes about their early life, talk to their relatives, you might find out things you never knew about someone you’ve been with for years!

Y Find a nice photo of you both together, and commission someone to sketch a caricature, manga or cartoon from it – again, http://www.fiverr.com/ is good, or if you want a more professional job try http://www.elance.com

Y If your time together is more recent, it’s still a lovely idea to make a scrapbook chronicling that time. You are bound to have lots of photos of the two of you, and you can also scan in meaningful scraps, such as tickets, event programs, anything that is special for you both.

Y Visit the place you first met, to show them how much that meant to you… if it’s somewhere naff and horrible, make it a playful and ironic pilgrimage – and then find a great restaurant nearby.

Y Recruit old friends and relatives to send you photos, from before the two of you met. Scan them and put them into a slideshow or DVD. If you are arranging a party – especially a surprise party – you can have that playing on a monitor on a loop, for people to watch when they want.

Above all celebrate your loved one’s birthday romantically using thoughtfulness and creativity, to express and enjoy your relationship and all that they mean to you.

Sweet ideas:-). I don't want to take him to where we first met though. It was at work. That boss just got out of jail for fraudulent co-mingling of escrow funds and what not!

What wonderful ideas, although I've never heard of fire balloons. What exactly are they? I don't know that they would be legal here in the U.S. Voting this Up and Useful.
