SANTA ON THE BEACH

Ho, Ho, Ho!

HEY SANTA...by b. Malin

Hey Santa, Lover Man and I were walking on the beach in Florida yesterday, When whom should appear?

You dear Santa YOU, minus your eight reindeer!

What were you doing here?

Enjoying the Sun and Holiday Cheer.

I'll tell you what I saw, I know there's no law...

But you were smiling and waving, and having your picture taken, as through you didn't have a care in the world, and nowhere special you needed to be.

Some surfer dude came up to you and asked if you wanted to surf, and could he get you anything to quench your thirst.

You smiled and said yes, so he grabbed a bottle of water from his knapsack, and handed it to you, and that was that. As you drank you looked longingly out at the ocean of blue...picturing yourself on a board on high, balancing, balancing as you touched the sky.

Your cell phone started ringing, it was Misses Claus on the line, and she was yelling, that things were not really fine. The elves had finished loading your sled, and Prancer and Dancer wanted to go back to bed!

"Oh dear me, Oh dear me", was your reply...You hung up the phone, than dialed your private plan number...we heard a little Thunder has it came out of the sky.

It landed quite smoothly on the sandy beach, and then you were gone, so far out of reach. But still we all kept on waving until we heard in the distance...."Merry Christmas to All, and to All A Good Night!

I guess you made it back to the North Pole, with a few minutes to spare...For today, is Christmas Day, and I see lots of Happy Children...without any cares...and lots of wares!

*This little ditty, is dedicated to all my Hubber Friends and their families. A very Merry Christmas to All.  b. Malin

....you my friend are one of the reasons this hub experience is so rich and rewarding. I can tell you love to write and you do it so well - and I always love to read what is coming from your fine mind.

We have a term here in Canada for people who are lucky enough to go down to Florida during the winter - snowbirds!!!

Thank you most sincerely for all of your loyalty and support to me this past year - I enjoy our online friendship here at the Hub as I consider you a respected and esteemed colleague.

Please accept my best wishes for your health and happiness in the coming new year!

epigramman, you always know how to "humble" another writer. I do love to write, as do you my friend, and I don't think we are happy until we have done so. It has been a joy to follow you, and I look forward to many happy times of doing so. Stay Happy, and Healthy. You have a "gift" that is so treasured by all of us here on Hub Pages.

So dear old Santa was enjoying some Floridian R n R

before having to make off to deliver many a gift afar!

So now that the Christmas day delivery of gifts is over

I guess that old SC is back with Mrs C near the Arctic Sea.

God bless you Mr and Mrs SC now feet up and rest easy!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and God bless!

I thought it would be fun to write about Santa, being he was having such a good time on the beach...But yes, now he's home with the Mrs. C. having earned his keep. Thanks richtwf, Happy Holiday wishes to you and your lovely family.

An interesting format where you are addressing the person about the past as though in a letter or in the possibility that the big man is actually reading this hub.

This was wonderful. I don't blame Santa for soaking up a little sunshine before his very chilly night out. This was brilliant - well done to you b.Malin. Great imagination, although a typical male leaving everything till the last minute whilst his wife stayed at home to organise the last minute preparations!

I wish you a truly happy and wonderful New Year.

That's right Acaetnna, you got it...Santa or not, he's still a "typical male" and Misses Clause is there to take care of business! Thanks for your wonderful comments.

A very Happy, Healthy New Year to you and yours.
