The Best Birthday On The Last Day Of The Year
"For thou hast possessed my reins; thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." Psalm 139, verses 13 and 14.
A New Year Starts For A New Years Eve Birthday
Today is my birthday. I wait All Year long for it. Besides the fact that it is NEW YEAR'S EVE, it is the best day of the year. It reminds me how valuable life is, and how TheLord God Almighty. put my parents and me on this earth for a purpose. My real birthday was supposed to be around the fourteenth of March, BUT NOT SO!! My Mom's uterus and body couldn't tolerate pregnancy any longer, and my little lungs were anxious to work on their own. I came out all by myself when the health professionals weren't even paying attention. Mom was in the hospital for observation because she became so ill with toxemia. After about 29 weeks of being inside her body, I guess we both just had had enough, And, I came into this world with a great chance of life expectancy, thanks to the swiftness of those wonderful nurses in the hospital. I was ready for life. I am so glad that my mother lived through all the complications of her birth to me!
Medical Efforts For My Life Survival
Surprisingly, at the begininning of the year 2000, the Lord allowed me to have a dream about my neonatal experience in the incubator. Because I am now a nurse, I understand what was told to me of what I went through from a professional stand point. Because they recorded me as only being 3 pounds and 8 ounces at birth, and because I was born about eleven weeks before my gestational due date, they put me in an incubator, for warmth and oxygen, fluids and to protect me from infection. In the dream I had, I could see the nurses and doctors all doing their jobs to keep me alive. In the dream I could see eye patches over my little eyes, and a tube in my nose for feeding. Based on real experience, I am aware that this is what they really do in the hospital in the "NICU". I don't know if they called it that fifty one years ago. But I have been told by my parents that this is what they did for me at birth.
I came home three weeks later to live with Mom and Dad and my two older brothers. I love recalling all my earlier memories, and with pictures it gives me a great illustration that shows a very happy family life. My Dad and Mom have given me the best of everything, and because Daddy worked so hard and Mom gave me a great home to grow up in,
Life's Gratitude
To God and His Son Jesus, I am eternally grateful. And for all the other wonderful people in my life, my daughter and son who are now adults, and even for their father, I have been blessed with experience I will never forget.
I still feel young in my heart and always will be. I am grateful to the Holy Spirit for that.
Though most people see December 31 as the last day of the year, I see it as the first day of my New Year to begin again. And I look forward for greater things to come.
