Seasons

Indications in the breezes.we each do feel, a tingling,

and excitement, that the time can't conceal,

Leaves of color, all shower us as rain,

piling upon our lawns and yet, few to complain.

The chill in the air and sniffles of noses,

let us all know a time, to harvest all our roses.

Autumn is here, and with it to come, the brighter days,

a dismissal, of late Summer's glum.ways.

The days of September a mix of two seasons,

akin to Summer and in Fall, many reasons,

The shedding of a skin as a snake in warm climes,

the leaving behind of many fond rhymes.

The colorful brilliance to wear in its trees,

soon Autumn, to stand, as warm weather flees.

The rows of reds and yellows that break,

in a vibrance, its bright salutation, to make.

October's first frost, amid blue skies, its brisk winds,

bring out our warm sweaters, in its message it sends.

Soon, jack-o-lanterns all grin, and corn stalks, fine,

in all their rows, these tee-pees, as imaginations, to define.

Halloween's trick-or treats, soon appear all in kind,

as warts upon noses, it may bring to mind,

Costumes of all sizes, worn by kids and adults, too,

gathering candy, their bags filled, to munch and to chew.

Colder weather sets in, November days, in sum,

bountiful harvests to be made, with much more to come,

The gathering of rich crops on farmlands nearby,

open fields of amber, bring joy to the eye.

A time of thanksgiving, and of the humbling kind,

by a spiritual light, on each, is so shined.

A reminiscence of memories, by a family, so dear,

the finest of feelings, to have them all near.

Soon, is Christmas and a time of much cheer,

the time of the year, when love is then here,

A time to share and give of ones own self,

decorating a tree, and in preparation, for the elf.

The special time for all children to hear the fond story,

told by a parent, and in all of its glory,

The birth of a child, in our sharing this fine pearl,

as we hold our own, with soft breath and curl.

The exchanging of gifts beneath a green tree,

of custom and a heritage, in the land of the free,

The singing of carols and the visits we all take,

the grand memories to relive and those we then make.

All adds a sharpness, in a greater meaning to our lives,

then to invite us to our futures, as each one, so strives.

A preparation for the winter, and a bleaker time,

in remembering the past year, in fondness there, so sublime.

Winter's white carpet and in blustering winds' howl,

sometimes, to disregard all, whether fish or the fowl.

All creatures each to huddle and in hopes for the Spring,

the fine warmth and sunshine, that it's sure to bring.

Late December, through January, and February, to March,

winters spell, and in its light, it so well to cast,

The beckoning Spring, with nurturing to bring,

our hopes see us through, and to the last,

Sunshiny weather, brings our best thoughts together,

and we arise each day with brand new tunes.

May your life be as warm and so full of such charm,

in all seasons and as warm as each June.

Thanks bravewarrior , I love to paint and write and without either, I would be lost. I enjoy writing and letting out my feelings and also in trying to capture the essence of the wild, which I never seem happy with, but keep on trying.

I love this poem! The photo tour of seasons is so beautiful. My favorite time of year is the winter here in Florida, no snow but still beautiful.

Thanks Jo, yes, they are my work and I hope all who see them appreciate, I try my best to portray the wild in nature, yet never quite feel satisfaction totally in my efforts.
