**Consider making a homemade card or note. You might be surprised how much joy it can bring to a person! Everyone loves to receive a card. At your local Hallmark Card Store and others, you can find Saint Patrick's Day cards as well.

I was first turned on to Saint Patrick's Day cards when I found one for my Great Aunt, who is Irish. I have since made some of my own using rubber stamps and card making supplies. It is a lot of fun no matter how you give a card. It puts a smile on someone's face, and that is what is important. Happy Saint Patrick's Day. **

I'm part Irish and have always loved the poem about the road rising to meet you.

My mother would make sure she had the St Paddy meal (corned beef and cabbage) and cards for my dad and kids. She was as Italian as The Godfather, but would always honor the paternal roots for my dad.

Great hub. voted up and interesting.

Hello Denise, You and I have a few things in common, like being Irish, and loving the poem about the road rising to meet you.

I love hearing about people's family traditions like your corned beef and cabbage meal that your mother would make. In my family we have a lot of Irish and Italian, so that is something we have in common as well. Your mother sounds like a wonderful woman, like when she wanted to honor your father's paternal roots and that heritage.

Thanks for your visit here, your votes, and comment. I wish you a very Happy Saint Patty's Day!
