Paper flowers are crafted using simple materials, but the time spent making them is what makes them special. In addition to paper, other materials such as glue, embellishments and ribbon are used to complete their appearance. Paper flowers can be used in place of real or silk flowers and are sometimes the more practical option. They are handmade and take many hours to complete. Even so, the cost of production is low making them a great option for those on a budget. However, paper florists are not as common as ones who work with real or silk flowers. In this article, I'll explain the reasons why paper flowers are the better option.

Real vs. Paper Flowers

Real flowers are most often a bride's first choice. They are available from florists are year long, but can be quite expensive. While there's nothing wrong with real flowers (and they certainly look great in real life and photographs), they may not be the best option for everyone.

Paper flowers are made using affordable materials such as paper and embellishments. Although a lot of time is spent crafting them, they can still be affordable.

Many different types of paper are easily accessible and come in a wide range of colours. If you're looking for a specific colour, chances are there is a type of paper that can match it.

Paper doesn't wilt in the heat or in the cold. This makes paper flowers great for outdoor wedding any time of year. They also (obviously) do not need water and won't make a mess if they fall over or are dropped.

There are many different types of flowers that can be made out of paper, and don't necessarily mimic the shape of real flowers. This makes paper flowers unique and great conversation starters.

Best of all, they are completely customizable. You can decide upon just about every element of the flowers you'd like and you can order them months in advance.

Paper Flowers and Weddings

As mentioned above, paper flowers won't wilt and are completely customizable, making them great for weddings.

They can also be made into bouquets, arrangements and centerpieces. Centerpieces can be made to have your names and date on the bottom and can therefore also act as keepsakes or favours for your guests.

Paper flowers can be used in anything that would normally use real flowers. The possibilities are endless!
