The Funniest Christmas Music Videos
The Holiday Season
It is that time of year again! The holidays are fast approaching and the dreaded Christmas shopping must begin. During this time of year, it is easy to become stressed or even depressed. The holidays are simply not something everyone enjoys, yet they are forced upon all of us. I even have friends that do not celebrate Christmas, yet they still feel the need to give presents and cards. Christmas has now turned into an uncontrollable beast that cannot be tamed.
Instead of sitting around and letting Christmas bring you down, it is a much better idea to kick back and listen to some truly wacky Christmas music. After all, some traditional Christmas music is just a total downer. Who wants to listen to that when you can laugh at some completely ridiculous music?
The next time you are feeling a little down this Christmas, check out some of these funny Christmas music videos and that will cheer you up in no time. After all, isn't Christmas all about spreading Christmas cheer? No one ever specified the cheer had to be in good taste or non-offensive. So now it is time to check some funny Christmas music videos, even if they may be a little tacky.
Elmo & Patsy - Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer
Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer
I remember when this video first came out, many people were rather offended by it. After all, no one wants to see their Grandma get run over by a reindeer. Yet, it still remains the most popular wacky Christmas song out there. I guess because it is just so ridiculous. No one expects to see anyone get run over by reindeer; you probably have a better chance at winning the lottery than ever seeing that happen. After some time passed, everyone simply lightened up and enjoyed this crazy Christmas song.
Weird Al Yankovic - The Night Santa Went Crazy
The Night Santa Went Crazy
Oh, Weird Al! What will he think of next? For some reason, Weird Al likes to incorporate some violent images into his Christmas music. It is hard to say why Weird Al's sense of humor is so twisted when it comes to Christmas, but it sure is funny. "The Night Santa Went Crazy" is the first of two Christmas songs by Weird Al on this list.
Weird Al Yankovic - Christmas at Ground Zero
Christmas at Ground Zero
Since everyone is talking about the apocalypse anyway, why not have a great Christmas song about just that? Weird Al sure knows how to write a semi-offensive Christmas song, doesn't he? So while you are fretting over petty silliness like what to stuff in someone's Christmas stocking, just remember it could always be worse. There could always be a nuclear disaster on Christmas Day. Thanks for the reminder, Weird Al!
Ray Stevens - Santa Claus is Watching You
Santa Claus is Watching You
Ray Stevens is to country music what Weird Al is to pop music. Also, I have to give Ray Stevens some credit for having one of the only funny Christmas music videos out there that is harmless and non-violent. Sure, Santa does sound a bit like a stalker in this song, but to some degree, we can all agree Santa really is a bit of a stalker. I mean, seriously... Santa is quite the peeping tom looking through windows all the time spying on everyone.
Ray Stevens - Nightmare Before Christmas
Nightmare Before Christmas
Yes, another funny Christmas music video by Ray Stevens. Apparently, Ray Stevens is a big fan of making videos about Christmas. This is one of his more recent country hits. If you'd like to hear some music about how being politically correct isn't always correct, this is the song for you.
Robert Earl Keen - Merry Christmas from the Family
Merry Christmas from the Family
As I journey further into this list, it has become more obvious to me that most funny Christmas music videos are offensive on some level. This one is no exception. Get ready for another rather tacky Christmas song from Robert Earl Keen. And if your family is anything like his, well, bless your heart. Hope you have a Merry Christmas anyway.
Asleep at the Wheel - Christmas in Jail
Christmas in Jail
Much to my dismay, the official music video for "Christmas in Jail" by Asleep at the Wheel is not available on YouTube. I know! What a crime. So for now, you can either settle for a live version of "Christmas in Jail" sang by the lead singer of Asleep at the Wheel, Ray Benson, or you can click on the link for the official video at: Christmas in Jail - Artist Direct. I highly recommend checking it out.
Jeff Foxworthy - 12 Redneck Days of Christmas
12 Redneck Days of Christmas
What is it about Christmas that inspires so many funny country music songs? Apparently, funny Christmas songs and country music goes hand in hand. So sit back and enjoy a little something from everyone's favorite redneck comic, Jeff Foxworthy.
Alvin and the Chipmunks - Christmas Don't Be Late
Christmas Don't Be Late
I know this is obviously not an official music video. While creating this list, I decided at least one song should be family friendly and non-offensive in anyway, so please enjoy the adorable cuteness of the Chipmunks. Yes, amazingly you will not have to make your children leave the room for this one. Have a nice day!
Adam Sandler - The Hanukkah Song
The Hanukkah Song
I know this is a list of funny Christmas music videos, but it just seemed right to include "The Hanukkah Song." In general, there simply are not too many Hanukkah songs. Thank goodness Adam Sandler decided to step up and create a great Hanukkah song that everyone enjoys.
