Time with loved ones..

cookies,candies and more...

what should we make?

Since the economy is so bad now I think this would be a good time to have an old fashion Christmas. What I mean is when I was a child Christmas at my house was all about the baking and cooking of all the yummy treats and of course the main meal. It was so exciting going to the store and buying food coloring and all the ingredients for cookies, cakes pies etc....

I remember when I was very young my gifts were a Christmas sock filled with candy nuts a popcorn ball and an orange. I couldn't wait to get up and take my sock down. And of course there were a few small gifts usually a new doll or shoes or something like that.

But before Christmas day was the most excitement baking, decorating, sampling all the goodies. People coming over with baked goods for us and giving baked goods to them. You see I grew up on a farm in a small town. Everyone knew each other and it was a very nice place to live.

I was brought up with my grandparents so I'm very old fashion about things. Ito this day I  love baking with my niece and decorating the tree and all that fun stuff. The gifts are nice but they don't make up for the time we spend together.

I have alot of different recipes for cakes, cookies, magic bars, breads and all kinds of things like that. I will be posting them on my hub pages and I hope that this year some of you get to enjoy each other doing fun baking and decorating as I did. Make sure to pull out the camera if you do. So you can see how many people are smiling and having a wonderful time..
