Today is a Holiday and I'll Prove It!

Updated on January 21, 2012

It doesn't matter what day of the year it is; you have a reason to celebrate today!

And I'm not just being vague or telling you to "live each day like it's your last"; there is literally a holiday for each and every day of the year.

In fact, you'll soon see that there are many holidays that are to be celebrated on each day, and you get the privilege of choosing with holiday you'd like to celebrate.

Celebrate Every Day

But before we get too far into things, why don't we look at why someone would want to celebrate every single day of the year. In fact, why would I want to do it? Why DID I do it, last year? That's right, I actually did celebrate every single day of last year (2011) and many of you celebrated along with me.

I documented every single one of my celebrations through video and blogs on here, but the reason I did that was because with all the "traditional" holidays, that you normally celebrate, people kind of start to forget why they are celebrating. Sure, you remember what day the holiday is and what you should be doing on that holiday, but doesn't it kind of feel like you're forced to celebrate the holiday after a while? People kind of seem shocked if you tell them you didn't do anything to celebrate, but yet they don't even realize why they're celebrating anymore. They just do it because that's what people do.

And there's nothing wrong with this these traditional holidays at all! But you don't really need a traditional holiday to have a good time and you should be able to celebrate whenever you feel like it. So, do you feel like celebrating something? Even if it's a traditional holiday today, do you feel like maybe doing something different? Well then, let me show you how you can figure out what holiday is being celebrated today, tomorrow or any day!

What Holiday is Today?

In order to be sure that you can find out which holidays you could celebrate today, I'm going to reveal to you one of my sources that I used to research my celebrations, each and every day last year. The site I'm talking about is Giftypedia.com and if you check out their site you will be directed to a page where you can choose the month you're in or the type of holidays you want to check out.

They provide you with a list of a bunch of holidays for each day and, with most holidays, you can explore even deeper and find out why the holiday came about. They even give you some suggestions as to what kind of gifts you could give on a holiday like today's. In fact, let's take a look at what January 21st's (today's) holidays are.

It looks like we have National Hugging Day and Squirrel Appreciation Day... are you down to celebrate? If you feel like dishing out some hugs or feeding some squirrels then you definitely have a reason to celebrate today! And if you're reading this on a different day, then go ahead, explore Giftypedia, find out what interesting holiday is going on today and keep the tradition of celebrating EVERY DAY alive!
