Tuckahoe Fireworks

The Fourth of July may be over but people are still celebrting it. This past Saturday there were fireworks in Tuckahoe.

Every year Tuckahoe puts on Fireworks by the ballpark in Tuckhoe. It is an event for family, friends and all people to attend. The show starts early so people can grab food and walk around venders. There are glow sticks for the young kids and food such as popcorn.

For the adults there are Pina Coladas and other frozen drinks. If you do not like to drink or are underage you could get virgin one. There are also gyros, nachos, fried ories, zeppolas and other foods.

There is a stage and performers get up on stage and perform songs that you hear on the everyday radio and have heard in the past. Some songs that were perfromed were all the way back from the 90's such as "As Long As You Love Me," by The Backstreet Boys. Then there were more recent songs like PSI "Gangman Style," Which was released in 2012 and the recent hit band which everyone knows as One Direction and their hit song "What Makes You Beautiful." There were many more songs as well.

There was one part of the night where a dance off happened. People were called to the front of the stage and had a dance contest.

Right before the fireworks started a Tuckahoe Alumni sang "The Star Spangled Banner." Then at 9:00pm once it finally got dark the show began.

Fireworks were all different colors and they shot up in the sky. Everyone who came to see them claimed that they were beautiful.

As the night went on more and more people came. People came mainly to see the fireworks. If you missed it this year be sure to come next year. You could go with a date or with your friends. If you are single and looking for love this may just be the place where you meet that special someone.
