Unique Christmas Trees
Just a few days before Christmas and I bet most of you have already prepared everything for Christmas. The trees, gifts, celebrations, decorations, foods, etc. So do the Christian people in Indonesia, most of us have already prepared for everything.
Christian people in Indonesia are more and more creative these days to do the Christmas celebration. For example, many of us now start to use things people called trash to make a unique Christmas tree. Like what they did in PETRA Christian University, Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. They built a 7 meters high Christmas tree from 124 computer boxes.
The Head Librarian, Mr. Aditya Nugraha said that they wanted to have a different athmosphere in the campus on the Christmas Eve. They needed about five days to build this Christmas tree. Big boxes in the bottom to give a strong base and they used bows to thighten the tree. The theme is blue, gold, and silver. Beautiful and creative I think.
Another interesting Christmas tree was the one in South Jakarta last year, there was a 3.2 meters bottle Christmas tree in Jesus Christ Church, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. The Church built the tree from hundreds of ketchup and beer bottles to reduce the pine trees cutting. They even played music with the tree. There was a children choir sang Christmas Carol like Jingle Bells with those bottles.
After the celebration, the Church untied the tree and gave each church member a bottle filled with scripture from the Bible. Cool.

Christmas tree from plastic bottles
This is from the event held by Ciputra Mall, Jakarta. They asked people to collect the mineral water plastic bottles and build a Christmas Tree from those bottles. Finally, they had 235,818 plastic bottles from 5343 customers, 12 tenants, and 12 schools. So they built a giant and beautiful Christmas tree from those bottles.
Christmas Tree from used infusion bags.
Not only in Java Island, our brothers in Kalimantan (Borneo) island also build another eco-friendly Christmas tree. One hospital in Kalimantan built a giant Christmas tree from used infusion bags.
Christmas Tree from SCSI hard drives
They build the tree from 70 used hard drives.
Christmas Tree from stuffed toys.
This is really cute, a huge Christmas tree from teddy bears and other stuffed toys in Suntec, Singapore. They collected 3,578 stuffed toys from children for charity and made a cute Christmas tree.
