Ukrainian Vintage Postcards

Gallery of Vintage Postcard images from the Ukraine

What a joy to share these images with you that I found in vintage postcards from the Ukraine. They share unique artwork that is very interesting from an era long ago. There is much the people of the Ukraine have done over the years to celebrate Easter. It is a very big deal evidently, worthy of festivals, religious observance, celebration and of course Easter egg decorating. The Easter eggs alone are wonderful, and worthy of being showcased.

For this article however, we are focused on one of my favorite things to collect, vintage postcards. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Clearly the Ukrainian people are a fun loving people, and enjoy a good holiday celebration of what is important to them. When we see images like these that clearly date back so many years, we get a better feel for the people I think, and their history. Being so far away in another part of the world from them, I treasure learning about people through this rather unlikely means.

Normally, I am used to more of the Vintage American postcards, maybe even a lot of European. This section of the world is one where I am just still learning so much about.

*Note - Please make sure to click on all the smaller little box images, as they are thumbnails made to be clicked. When you do, they will become larger, and often you can click the image again if you would like to see more detail.

I hope you have enjoyed this little tour of the Ukraine, through the eyes of some of their artwork on antique postcards!

Photo 7 - So fun and cheerful.Photo 8 - These Pussywillows in bouquet form, are a fairly common theme among Easter postcards from this region. I do not know their meaning as of now. This one is totally unique from the others, and so interesting as well.
