What do 9 year old boys want for Christmas
It's that time of year again. The holidays! They always come so quickly. This year I didn't even have to ask my 9 year old son what he wanted for Christmas. He came straight to me the other day with a list of things that he would want this year. The list made me chuckle as I read from the extravagant requests down to the reasonable requests and so I thought I would write a hub about it for those of you who are wondering what a 9 year old boy wants for Christmas.
HIS ABSOLUTELY NOT ITEMS!
iPhone or iPodTouch or iPad. I would love to have any one of these items, and I definitely have to say that I will be getting one or more of these items before he does. I also don't think he is responsible enough for a phone or needs one. He is 9! His reasoning for the phone is that he will have wireless reception anywhere with the phone and with an IPod Touch he won't. Well, I had to explain to him that with an iPhone I have to pay $30 extra a month for wireless service on top of it so Santa isn't doing me any favors.
Electronic Game Overload!
Even though my two sons already share a Wii console and a Playstation 3, new and bigger is always better! On my 9 year old's list is a PSP (hand held play station), Playstation 4 and an XBox 360. And then of course there are the coordinating games that go with the consoles. He doesn't want them all mind you this is just a list for Santa to choose from. Oh how spoiled he is and I am starting to realize that the person playing Santa all these years is the person to blame. I definitely get caught up in the Holiday season and want to see the faces of my children light up when they get everything they want, however, it may need to be toned down a bit!
Amazon prices vs. Ebay prices
Amazon prices are sometimes just as good as Ebay prices and in a way a lot safer to buy from. There is always a return policy and you can just go ahead and buy it instead of waiting around to see if you get out bid. During the holidays Amazon definitely has some great prices and lots of free shipping savings. It is up to the Ebay seller whether or not they are going to offer free shipping and sometimes it is difficult for the seller and definitely cuts into any profit that might stand to gain from the item.
Don't want to take your chance on ebay - Buy from Amazon!
His list of Reasonable Gifts!
Finally, we get to some reasonable requests! He is really into sports so he is interested in a basketball hoop, sport's game table, or any kind of ball known to man; football, baseball, basketball (a cool one with his favorite team logo). This I know I can do! There are also the fad items! New games like Googly Eyes and Bounce Off, WWE figures and fighting rings, Nerf Toys, and good old fashioned board games. Which lose their excitement pretty fast but are cost effective. Sometimes I think it is actually seeing all the wrapped gifts and the unwrapping part that is the most exciting on Christmas morning. Although the gifts themselves are great too.
I see that I have my work cut out for me and some serious decisions to make. This Christmas funds are tight so I will have to find the best deals available. I often wonder how much money people spend on average per child at Christmas time and if I am spoiling my children rotten or am doing what the majority of other Americans are doing. Please take my poll below and I would love to hear your comments. The holidays are upon us!!!
