HAPPY FATHERS DAY
Its Fathers Day today 21 June in the UK. This is to all you lovely fathers for all you’ve done and do. It might take you on a trip down memory lane.
Thanks for the following:
Affection. Giving us love and affection.
Birthday presents, Birthday parties and yummy birthday cakes.
Cuddles that say “I love you” and “Every thing will be alright”.
Driving us to school. (sorry dad, I was always just finishing breakfast when you were ready in the car)
Education – ensuring we had a good start or had a good one.
Fun – Having fun and playing games with us.
Guiding us in life with your Wisdom. We didn’t know then, but now we know, you know best!
Holidays that were exciting, awesome and unforgettable.
Ice cream. Digging deep into your pockets when the ice cream van came round.
Jabs. Ensuring in childhood we had those all important Jabs.
Kindness. For your kindness through which we have learnt to be kind to others.
Loaning us money when we asked you as teenagers. We know we didn’t have to pay back because it was from “The Bank of Dad”.
Man 2 Man – showing us men what it takes to be a man.
Nurturing us the minute we arrived into the world.
Optimistic – showing us how to have a positive outlook in life.
Pocket money – we could buy sweets to our hearts delight.
Queens. Treating us daughters like Queens and little Princesses.
Respecting us as little adults as we were growing up.
Sense. Helping us to see Sense. Lol. (sometimes through discipline).
Thumbs up. Giving us the thumbs up when you watched us in the school plays, especially if we forgot the lines.
Understanding when we want to make our own decisions about directions we want to take in life.
Vouching for us by writing letters of references.
Working hard to supply our needs.
Yes! For saying yes when we wanted to go to our friends parties even though we had to be back before midnight.
Zzzzzzz – Reading us imaginative Bed time stories. Those were the days.......
** You are simply the Best!! **
