Too many to remember at one time--and I wouldn't dare share most of them! But, yeah, a trip west for six weeks with my 8-yr-old son around Thanksgiving (principal said, "take the books but put 'em in the trunk--he'll learn more than from books"--he did); several people I've helped over the years (hitchhikers-esp the guy w/a dog and I had my cat for four states-all night--talking of everything and forming a strange, fun, friendship (cars broken down)--severely chastised by most, but I wouldn't change a thing; the two days I had all to myself on one of the most absolutely beautiful beaches in this country--no tent, few supplies, but lots of sun and a quilt, hurricane lamp, and full moon at night just for me w/o fear of disturbance; the day a young guy headed for the lake stopped me and played w/my 18-mo old daughter, explaining", she's beautiful--I've got 3 pretty little girls at home, but she makes me want to go home and try again!" More than once with my brother--I'd take any one of them! (and no I won't mention lovers and general good times!) But I will say watching Gator, my cat, sitting at the end of the dock every evening at sundown, watching the fish jump and the birds catching supper, and, most precious of all, when he put his paw up to my lizard tank, and Sirita, the leopard gecko came over and put her tiny paw to his. The world should be like that.
