Like a ritual? That does sound good and a real special occasion I am sure.

I like them up a month but the day after Christmas I am ready for it to all go. Strange how something so special can get depressing isn't it?

Oh, I know and I am really thrilled to see Christmas trees up in stores, I know, it use to be shocking and I know their true purpose for doing it but maybe we should be like the children and just be thrilled with the beauty!

I just do little things but I love a lot of lights, they are so cheerful aren't they? I like to get a few in my bedroom too of just anything. A string of lights balled up with a string of garland curled on top can look really good twinkling.
Yes, I love the garland too. I think less is more. But I do love a very large tree as we have very high ceilings 12 ' in one room and 10' in another. It is nice to add something to the bedroom too.

Yes Christmas is Christ to me, I even wrote about it. I had a sister-in-law that did leave her tree up all year round, but I believe that was laziness on her part. I see people now using the Christmas tree to put Easter eggs on and 4th of July flags.
Strange it is after Christmas that it bothers me. I love it up until then but then I want everything put up before New Years.
For me, the ideal time to begin decorating is the day after Thanksgiving. I use to live in an apartment in a commercial district. While there, I would go outside to see how my place (the lights) looked to the passing traffic.
I really don't care about decorating for others, maybe selfish of me, but I just like the inside to be twinkly and have lots of Christmas music, mostly instrumental and I really miss all the Christmas shows there use to be.
