Yes, I don't like the so-called commercialism, but it is how so many, SO MANY, folks make a living. So leave the commercialism and then I, myself, come back inside and begin choosing how I want to participate in the commercialism. I don't have to be out there in the hustle and bustle, and I don't have to go looking for the perfect gift. Or I can choose to venture out into the hustle and bustle and choose to enjoy every second of it. I can even set a time limit for myself. I'm "going in" for three hours! I prepare for Christmas each year through meditation, and I have been doing this now for ??not sure how many years, but I am peaceful this time of year, and I enjoy the decorations, the smell of the tree, the lights, friendships and some of the rituals and liturgies at church. So it keeps coming back to oneself. What are you going to make of the holidays? Make the holidays a gift for yourself and those who are around you or make it the most stressful time of year for yourself and those around you. It really is a choice. So have at it. Choose! And enjoy!
THANKS FOR THE QUESTION. A GOOD ONE!
