Other notable "modern" Christmas songs aside from "All I Want for Christmas is you"?

The only one I can think of is "All I want for Christmas is  you"? written  Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff. This was from 1994.

While all the classics are great, I'm just wondering if there's been a new development  here, in the 2000-2012 time frame.

Fairytale of New York - The Pogues.
Here it is, Merry Christmas - Slade.
Riding Home for Christmas - Chris Rea.
I wish it Could be Christmas Everyday - Wizard.
    Santa Baby - Kylie Minogue.
Ring Out The Solstice Bells - Jethro Tull.
Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy - david Bowie/Bing Crosby.
I think they are all post 2000.

I really like Ring Out The Solstice Bells. Fairytale of New York was surprising, not all that uplifting at all. Forgot about Santa Baby. Thanks for the response.

I have heard Noddy Holder, in an interview that ... Merry Chistmas - Slade, is re-released every year and that it sells about 100k copies per year.  I would imagine that the Wizard and Jethro Tull records are also re-release each year.

"Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)" by Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

...or any of the three Christmas albums by Trans-Siberian Orchestra. They were all released in the late '90s/early '00s and they have a new five song EP available this year.

Never would have guessed that Christmas songs and electric guitars would go great together. Thanks for the response.

Christmas Time (Don't let the bells end) was released in 2003 by 'The Darkness'.

Plus Billy Idol released a Christmas album in 2007 I think (Yep Billy Idol did that!)

      You're welcome!
Also - I think Coldplay released a Christmas song a couple of years ago

"Let It Snow" (1993) by Boyz II Men. I know that's earlier than your time frame but it's worth a mention as a very popular and beautiful modern Christmas song.

That's quite alright. I guess there are more updates to the "classics" than actual new songs. I've listened to Boyz II Men before. Don't remember them singing Let it Snow. Thanks for the info.
