We called it Hutzelbrot. Many members of my family still make it together. Baked the day after thanksgiving in a pan for "meatloaf". It was a family affair and required attendance while we were young. Mom is gone but members try to carry it on. My mom once labeled it "two pound" cake. And we decorated it with nuts and the colored candied fruit on top.
I hope my ex-wife will do it this year because she makes the best, just like my mom taught her.
Oh yes we had to drive them around town and deliver them to our closest 30 friends also ;-)
Do not tell anyone but I hope my oldest sister does not do them again, she gets all new age and it is not good.
