   It might sound corny, but do something for someone else. Not only will it take your mind off any reasons you might have for not being happy; you'll add immeasureably to someone's holiday and do good in the world.

   Buy something for yourself.... it just might be exactly what you hoped for! No need to wrap, bow or tag it either! I always do it to be SURE I get something worthwhile that doesn't need to be exchanged for the 'correct' thing. Besides, only YOU know best what even 'Santa' and all his 'helpers' do not. Best thing is when others hear your answer to the question "What present did you like the most?" it might just wake some of them up and get to know you a little better. For example: Just because you enjoy a round of Golf when you can doesn't mean your idea of a great gift is the proverbial wacky non-matching, brain-scramble, eye-headache outfit that you wouldn't wear to a Halloween party at a mental institute. Point is, most people haven't got a clue to you, so show them what IS you and what IS the right kind of gift. If just knowing you can set others straight, your "happy" will last a long time and get you through the season of depression and disappointments.

   If going to xmas celebrations is just too much, just have xmas with someone or people you feel happy and comfortable to be around. Dont make the day a be all of everything day. Remember it is a religious festival and this year I learnt a little of the history of it and I actually am less inclined to the celebration than I was before.
   
   If you dont want to see certain family members, dont visit. Make a date on another day and visit them individually or seperately - which might ease any social pressures.
   
   Most of all, put on a little music, find something good in the day and send blessings !!!!!!
   
   We even played a bit of pass the parcel this year - with a shared gift and it really worked.
