Should Christmas be celebrated by all people or just by Christians alone?
Traditionally, Christmas Day is the date of birth of Jesus Christ, but in some countries they are so widely celebrated, what do you think?
Christmas was a holiday long before the Christian church hijacked it and made it their holiday. Its been a pagan holiday for thousands of years. The early Christian church made it theirs to make conversions easier.
If you put up a Christmas tree and exchange gifts then you are observing the pre-Christian version of the holiday.
Christians don't have a monopoly on this holiday so everyone is free to celebrate. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!
I agree with AKdude. Christmas, or Yule as it was known in pagan times is a long-standing, Pagan holiday. Christianity has taken over the holiday, distorting its old pagan message. If you do a bit of research you will learn that Jesus Christ was not born in the 25th of December. So yes, Christmas can and is celebrated by non-Christians all the time.
I believe that anyone who wants to celebrate any holiday should be allowed to. Christmas is not just for religious people but for those who enjoy the closeness it can bring with family and friends.
When my husband´s birthday comes, it is only the most allegated to him, the ones who love him, that celebrate it and throw a party in his honor. I think Christmas should be the same. Only those who love Jesus should celebrate.
AKdude & Home Witch.. you are quite right.. Christmas day was adopted. Begun to celebrate only after Constantine took over the Empire. However, In paganism, it was not known as Christmas. It had another name.
I believe that Christ Jesus came to earth for all mankind and all people. I therefore believe that Christmas is a festival for all as Christ came to earth and gave his life on earth for all people.
I do not favor or take kindly or easily to people who insist that only Christian's should be allowed to celebrate Christmas. Christ came to earth for all people therefore all people should have the right to celebrate and mark his birth.
I also do not take kindly to people who block or barr people from Christmas. And I pray always that no matter how dark the corner, that the light and the love of mighty god fill that dark corner at Christmas time.

Why do non-Christians celebrate Christmas?Christmas is a celebration of the birthday of Christ. Why do non-Christians celebrate Christmas? Is this the reason people say the US government was founded based on Christian principles?

Why are so many people critical of how others celebrate Christmas?Christmas is what you make it and you have every right to celebrate it the way you wish. It is not only for Christians anymore. It is a societal tradition that will not go away as religions decline. It is a time to be happy, to...

Has Christmas became all about presents and Santa Claus instead of Jesus to children today? How can we as Christians make sure they know the real meaning of Christmas?

Does anyone know any person; a friend, neighbor, sibling, acquaintance, work mate e.t.c who is not a Christian? In the light of the Christmas mood and spirit, what gift do you think is best to share with such a person?
