Australian Halloween Costumes for Kids
Australian themed Costume Ideas for Kids
There are not many unique Australian costume ideas, but I've gathered a few such as an outback hat as part of a bushmaster's costume (think Crocodile Dundee or the late Steve Irwin), a kangaroo costume, and a koala costume. If you get a group of friends together, you can also go as Olympic athletes from different countries and find a track suite, or to be even more fun, morph suits.
If you know of any other type of costume that is unique to Australia, please leave a comment in the guestbook below. I haven't found a good Aborigine costume, but I am still looking.
Learn the Lingo
When wearing an Australian themed costume, you'll need to practice your accent and have a few catch phrases in your arsenal. Here's some of my favorites:
"Put a Shrimp on the Barbie"
"Bullamankanka"
"Bob's your Uncle"
"G'day, mate"
"No worries"
Australian Bushmaster Costume
It seems every costume featuring an Australian bushmaster is very similar in nature. The bushmaster's hat, a leather or crocodile vest, boots and some dungarees. Crocodile Dundee portrayed this type of outfit in the movies. The same type of outfit is used by the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin.
Koala Costume for Kids
A toddler' dressed in a Koala costume is as cute as can be, and Koalas are definately a product of Australia.
Australian Kangaroo Costume for Kids
A kangaroo costume is very cute on a toddler.
Australian Flag Costumes
If you really aren't sure, and just want to be patriotic, there are many outfits that feature the Australian flag like a morphsuit or an olympic track suit.
