Best Music for Halloween Wedding Themes from A to Z: Autumn Splendor to Zombies
Halloweddings: Celebrate Your Special Day Your Own Way
A list of the best Halloween wedding music makes planning a theme wedding a snap. A girl's dream wedding nowadays will probably be much different than her mother's -- and may even include something a little edgier with costumes and music that could fit comfortably in a Tim Burton film. With that in mind, you need special music to accompany your walk down the isle that matches the Hallowedding theme you have chosen.
Halloween has been increasingly popular in America since the 1950s, with costumes and makeup used to aid the wearer to become whatever they want to be for that special night. Why should such a great holiday be only for kids? For teens and adults, it's more than just the candy; it is a way to live out their dreams.
Add to that the romanticized influences of movies and books about vampire lovers, Zombie hoards, Victorian Steampunkers, or a Disneyesque fairyland -- and you have a generation with an entirely different dream of a perfect wedding. They have even coined a new word to describe the combination of Halloween + wedding = Hallowedding.
I am a classically trained organist who plays at weddings, funerals, church services, and other gigs. (I especially love to play with my local symphony orchestra on their $3.1 million organ with 4322 pipes!) I also love Halloween and have composed and recorded several CDs of what I call Halloween Carols. I was also commissioned to write original music to accompany the silent film version of The Phantom of the Opera. Yes, I love Halloween. Not the dark / slasher stuff, but the fun, creative part of Halloween.
Over the years I have been contacted by fans, telling me that they have used my music for their October weddings. (I guess I am a full-service Halloween organist; several people have also written that they want my music played at their funerals.) I would like to share a few of the more popular Hallowedding themes and some music -- mine and others -- that might help convey the ambiance you might want for your own Hallowedding.

An Invitation To A Celebration
The invitation says it all. Come to a party to celebrate the union of two people who want to have fun as they start their life together. Some Halloweddings want you to be a participant by also coming in costume. The stage is set for an extraordinary event.
Music plays an important part of the wedding ceremony. It signals to the audience that something special is about to take place, like hearing the strains of an overture to a musical before the curtains go up. When you hear processional music that is not the same old-same old Wedding March, you know you are in for a fun wedding experience.
After you have looked through all the Hallowedding themes, vote for your favorite or add another one. Share something about your own Hallowedding or tell us about your favorite song in the Comments section at the end of this article.
Theme: Autumn Splender
Falling leaves, pumpkins, cider, and cinnamon are things that set your heart aglow. Of course you would be married in your favorite season! You love everything Autumn and Halloween and want to share your joy.
The classic that brings to mind a royal party.
Customer reviews give this album high ratings for quality as well as the many traditional songs to choose from.
Theme: Black & White Masked Ball
Your wedding is sophisticated yet whimsical, with a touch of intrigue thrown in. Know that you only have eyes for one another as you walk down the isle.
Masked Ball Music
A dreamy and modern waltz.
Share the fun with your guests with their own mask as a party favor.
Theme: Corpse Bride and Groom
Your wry sense of humor has given you courage to paint your face like a skeleton and laugh at death 'til you part.
Corpse Bride Music
A classic for piano.
Organ and strings create just the right touch of spooky.
Dream your way down the aisle.
Theme: Dia De Los Muertos - Day of the Dead
Imagine a mariachi band playing Wagner's wedding march. I am an organist, and at one wedding a Mexican mariachi band played "Here Comes The Bride" with me -- trumpets, guitars, and all. ("Can you play it in the key of C?") Yes I could. It was fantastic.
Dia de los Muertos Music - Amazon
You may have some other traditional Mexican music that you might want to use for the processional, but I found an album with music for Dia de los Muertos. Celebrate!
Theme: Fairy Tale Dreams
Come fly away with your handsome groom to a Fairyland Wedding. Elegant, ethereal music could accompany you as you float down the isle. Here are two versions of the Nutcracker's Sugarplum Fairy to consider, plus "The Acquarium" from the Carnival from the Animals.
Disney Wedding Music - Who else could create music for a Fairy Tale wedding? Think Tink!
For those who just need what Disney can only give. Musical memories. Instrumental classics from Disney.
Customer's Review: My husband and I met in Disneyland in 1999. When we began planning our wedding, we wanted to put a subtle Disney spin to it, since it means so much to our relationship (we even went to WDW for our honeymoon!) This CD inspired a number of songs - I walked down the aisle to So This Is Love, but played live by a classical guitarist, and we had the DJ play this entire disc during the dinner part of our reception. I truly felt like a princess, and it really made the evening so special. I HIGHLY recommend it :)
Jules Verne would have approved of the creative Victorian approach of a Steampunk theme. I found some great instrumental music that is powerful, intricate, and reminds me of the tick-ticking of the wheels and gears of the Industrial Revolution.
Great background music that brings to mind the Industrial Revolution.
Theme: Vampire / Gothic
Count Dracula RSVP'd that he and his brides may be attending the party. Watch out for his congratulatory kiss on the neck. The processional needs to be full and powerful, coursing with blood.
Anything goes for Zombie wedding music. Consider the Dark Classical pieces listed above or move off center to some of the songs I have listed that would be fun at the dance party. Rip it. Shred it. Love it.
Zombie Wedding Thriller Dance - ... Something Borrowed
Yes, Michael Jackson's Thriller has been around for a long time, but wedding parties still delight in the music and love to perform the dance.
The second video shows an actual Zombie Themed Wedding in the UK. Listen to the vows the Zombie couple share.
