... to everyone up north of the USA/Canadian border. My calendar shows that it's Canadian Thanksgiving. Have a great day!

I will always send my congratulations.  I have often thought of researching the premise behind the Canadian Thanksgiving since they are our neighbors to the north.  I think I shall do so today.  Happy Canadian Thanksgiving.

Thanks! We celebrate Thanksgiving the second Monday in October. It's because our growing season is shorter being further north. The harvest is pretty much done so we give thanks now for the bountiful harvest.

Are any of y'all planning anything special? What's on the menu?

The usual fare: turkey, sweet potato, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, etc.

Got room for one more? wink Sounds great. I no longer do the turkey and trimmings, but I do make great use of Furs on the holiday and down their wonderful fare. Since I always try to be first in line in the morning, I'm usually back again for an evening round of 2nds. I discovered carrot soufflé at Furs and it's been one of my faves since.

I still have some pumpkin pie left. I'd be happy to give you a virtual piece!

Thanks for the explanation.  I am also a Canuck (Canadian) and always wondered by our Thanksgiving was so much earlier.

THanks, Alicia. That's perfect. I was thinking leftovers would be scrumptious.
