toasted pumpkin seeds
Adult supervision is required for this. Pumpkins seeds are not just for snacking. They make excellent tools for spellwork, for those of the witchy persuasion:) If you're in a hurry, you don't have to boil the seeds. I would recommend boiling, but hey, it's nice to have options. Just make sure that you've got all your seeds cleaned before baking them.
What you'll need:
Pumpkin seeds (these are good for wishes, and save the pumpkin for carving)
2 quarts of water (this is for purification)
1/2 cup of salt or salt to taste (this is for protection)
2 tablespoons olive oil (this is for healing and peace)
2 tablespoons dried rosemary (this is for protection)
Ok now, here's what you do:
Rinse your seeds. I mean really rinse. If you're not going to boil, rinse then rinse again. Get your water boiling. Add the salt. Remember you can add however much you like, it's your call. If you're boiling your seeds then go ahead and add them now. You'll know they're done when they turn a brown-grey color and they should start falling to the bottom. While that's going on get a bowl. Make sure the bowl is big enough to hold and mix the seeds. In the bowl put the olive oil, salt, and rosemary. Drain the seeds from the boiling water and then put the seeds in the oil mixture. Get your oven preheated to 350 degrees F. Cover a cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Trust me. The foil makes a difference. Spread out the seeds in a single layer. Make sure none are stuck together. Nothing good comes of that. Put the seeds in for 20 - 30 minutes. Don't let them turn brown. Brown is bad. For pumpkin seeds at least. They should be white and dry. Good thing is you don't need to turn them. Hey, anything I can do to make life easier, you know. When you take them out of the oven, use a spatula to take the seeds from the foil to a bowl. Let them cool. Nothing's worse than salt on a burnt tongue.
Another warning, these are highly addictive. And it is very possible to eat so many you make yourself sick. I've done it. You've been warned.
Aside from that, ENJOY!!!!
