Getting customer through word of mouth publicity implies trustworthiness of your affiliate business. Affiliates should not only gain the trust of their customers but also try to retain it for years to come. Retaining trust of one customer would lead to more sales in the future through good publicity in and out of internet. As people tend to buy from those whom they can trust.

How to win trust of the customers?

1. Testing the product before promoting:

Affiliates must buy the product themselves and try to find out each aspects of the product. They should find out if the product does what it promises. If the affiliate is not convinced about the product then he may choose not to promote it. In case minor loop holes affiliates should try to figure some way out of it or get help from the merchant in solving the problem.

2. Extending basic support for the product usage:

Affiliates should help customer in understanding the product and its usage. Being acquainted with the products from the beginning, affiliates can extend better support to the customer. Live help desk should be facilitated where customers can shoot their queries regarding the product. Affiliates should themselves come up with an FAQ section which covers all the possible queris that could be raised by the buyer.

3. Extending post sales support:

Affiliate's responsibility should not end after selling a product. Most of the time customers experience problem after couple of weeks, or months. Affiliates should be easily accessible to sort out the problems customer encounter. Customers bestow their complete faith in an affiliate when they receive active support long after the deal is closed. Thus they spread a word of reputation about the site where they bought the product from.

This is how affiliates prove themselves to be trustworthy for any sales deal and earn a word of mouth publicity in the market.
