At the OneXOne charity gala Thursday night in San Francisco, Charlize Theron auctioned off a kiss for an incredible $140,000 — to a woman.
The lip service was a last-minute addition to a South Africa/World Cup package she was auctioning. When bidding stalled at $37,000, well below the $280,000 that Jeremy Piven had just raised, Theron upped the ante. From US Weekly.

Theron at first offered a 2010 South Africa trip - complete with World Cup tickets, a safari trip and a chance to meet Nelson Mandela.
When bidding lagged at $37,000, Theron reportedly raised the stakes by tossing in the kiss and the bidding war began.
A female attendee outbid a man in the audience by $5,000 to win the kiss.

Good for her. In the old days of state fairs there used to be kissing boothed used to raise money for charity. These days with all of the health problems I doubt it we'll see them return.

If the final bidder could sacrifice so much for charuty, that person could have done it without a kiss.Isn't it? What the bidder wanted here? whether publicity, charity, or an ego- satisfaction that she kissed a so-called celebruty?
