Glen Beck is a Pathetic Loser and has a Deep-Seated Hatred of Brown People

Who's the Real Racist?

I just had to say it. I know Beck would disagree and say it is the President of this dis-United States, who is biracial and was raised by his white mother and white grandparents all of whom he adored and adored him, hates white people while he’s free of any trace of racism. Of course if that were the case, Obama would have to hate 50% of himself—he would be self-loathing, he would be a psychological basket case, and I see no evidence of either.

Beck Suffers from Psychological Projection

But I’m convinced it is actually the other way around—it is Beck that hates brown people—or, all people of color. Of course, Beck would deny this because he suffers from a serious case of “psychological projection,” the term psychologists use to describe projecting one’s negative traits onto others. The reason human beings project is to attribute the dark parts of themselves to others so they can hide from their own demons—textbook Psychology 101.

One example of projectionist behavior is blaming others for one’s own failures. This is simply the “blame game” or “the best defense is a good offense.” Beck, O’Reilly, Palin, Limbaugh, Hannity, and the Right Wing politicians are all masters of the blame game. They blame all of our country’s problems on others—Obama, The Left, Liberals, Intellectuals, Gays, Californians, Democrats, Progressives, Illegal Aliens (code for Latino’s), Feminists, Gun Control Advocates, Those who Oppose Torture, Muslims, and latte drinkers, to name a few…I’ll simply run out space if I don’t quit soon. Not one bit of blame goes to themselves and the choices they made to put lunatics in charge of the country—such as, Bush, Cheney, and all the white guys who brought us to war by lying and then milked the country dry for the eight years.

Psycho Babble

Has Deep Seated Hatred

The facts don't matter!
The facts don't matter!

Masters of Projection

Beck, like his posse, Limbaugh, O’Rielly, Hannity, Coulter, Palin, and the Republicans in the House and Senate (perhaps with a couple of exceptions), are masters of projection. They attempt to convince themselves and others they are all the good things they aren’t, such as, loving Christians. While desperately trying to prove by outward bravado they are part of a morally superior group, they use hate filled rhetoric and propaganda to kill actual reform that could help the poor and suffering.

Joe Wilson—Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire!

How could there be a better example of projection than Joe Wilson screaming, “Liar!” at the President when it is a fact he was the one who was lying? The health care proposal the President was advocating made it clear illegal aliens would not be eligible for health care in the proposal. When Obama stated this, Wilson called him the liar! These Masters of Projection understand they can say absolutely anything and their followers will follow. This is frighteningly reminiscent of the political climate of the 30’s when a certain European chancellor tried to conquer the world.

Remember the Dixie Chicks – How Truth Became Treason

Beck and crew now scream “fiscal responsibility and “small government!” Remember how they pushed going to war after 9/11 because they were sure Sadham had weapons of mass destruction? Remember how they predicted the war would pay for itself when evil liberals predicted the terrible cost in lives and resources. Remember how they labeled the opposition, un-American and soft on terror when those who disagreed practiced their right to dissent?

Remember the Dixie Chicks? Of course, now the Right is all for “tea parties” and rallies and freedom of speech as long as they are doing the name-calling and rallying their crowds to go for the kill. It’s fine for them to call the President a racist and a Nazi, to foster and encourage the lie he’s un-American, but for the Dixie Chicks to have protested Bush and his war? That was treason. According to a Congressional Research Service study completed last year, the Iraq war had already cost taxpayers about $694 billion, and by comparison the Vietnam War cost $686 billion in inflation adjusted. That is not small government.

Beck Only Wants Rich White People to have Health Care

We know the conservatives do not want illegal aliens to be eligible to participate in a health care plan. They feel that would be un-American. But, this is where things get confusing. The right has a solid base of working class poor and middle class, many of whom cannot afford health care and have been screwed by the insurance industry. Yet the same people who are being victimized by Republicans and insurance companies are their biggest supporters. They are the same people carrying signs saying, “Keep the government away from my Medicare!” And of course, the President and other socialist pigs who want them to have access to the affordable health care they need are Nazis. So, when a newly elected Democratic President (who happens to be black), wants to reform a broken health care system—the most expensive in the world, that is going to cost double within eight years—Beck and the other good old boys and girls are suddenly concerned about fiscal responsibility and too much government control. God forbid our government should actually provide a public option or an alternative to getting screwed by insurance companies! That would be un-American. To the so-called conservatives, small government means letting corporations and insurance companies run wild and pull the plug on granny whenever it becomes profitable for them to do so.

Pulling the Plug on Granny – More Psychological Projection

The right’s claims that Obama wants to pull the plug on granny and create death panels that deny health care to the elderly is more projection. Insurance companies backed by the right already pull the plug on granny and millions of others every day by the high cost of insurance and high deductibles—if we aren’t affected by this nightmare, we know people who are.

The Best Defense is a Good Offense

If conservatives were not on the attack, if they jumped on board and admitted: the Administration is absolutely spot on and it’s time we joined the rest of the Western democracies and provide health care for our people; it’s high time we do the right thing; insurance companies are parasitic blood suckers, they themselves would be vulnerable to accountability. People would ask, “Why didn’t you fight for a public option a long time ago? Why was health care never an issue when you were in the majority?” It would be like admitting they’d messed up, and of course, projection is all about blaming others for your mistakes to avoid taking responsibility or admitting to yourself you were wrong. The right never admits their mistakes.

Back to Beck Hating Brown People…

If Beck did not hate brown people, why would he have said Obama hates white people? I mean what evidence does he have to support such a statement? Because Obama has not shown any actual signs of hating white people, or 50% of himself, we have to assume this is Psychological projection. Psychologists say projection reduces anxiety “by allowing the expression of the unwanted unconscious impulses or desires without letting the conscious mind recognize them.” In short, Beck doesn’t want to admit to himself he’s a racist. He wants to believe he’s the good guy, the guy on the right side of things, the morally superior—he is after all, a Christian. He is a real American, a really white American. So, he projects his own fear and deep seated hatred of those who do not share his ethnicity onto a black Democratic president who is smarter, more educated, more popular, and more powerful than he is.

Here is a definition of Psychological projection taken directly from Wikipedia:

Psychological projection (or projection bias) is the unconscious act of denial of a person's own attributes, thoughts, and/or emotions, which are ascribed to the outside world, like the weather, the government, a tool or another person or people. Projection is the most profound and subtle of our psychological processes, and extremely difficult to work with, because by its nature, it is hidden. It is the fundamental mechanism by which we keep our selves uninformed about ourselves. Humor has great value in any attempt to work with projection, because humor presents a forgiving posture and thereby removes the threatening nature of any enquiry into the truth.

Call me a naive interloper if you must, but I long ago decided packaging isn't the heart of an object, content is. Our packaging, including it's color should not be confused with our inner contents.

Anyone who tries to build a political platform based on packaging, has no interest in humanity at all and certainly should not be up there in a position that should be dedicated to serving that humanity.

The whole world is tired of hearing screams of RACE! RACE! PLease, won't you all change your tune?

Sure Obama is half white. But he still identifies-and is identified by most people-as black. So he doesn't hate half of himself.

As to whites backing his agenda: You can obviously be a white liberal progressive and still believe in wealth redistribution without it necessarily being on a racist basis. But it doesn't mean that blacks believing in the same agenda are or aren't on a racism basis. Judging by Obama's associations-reverend Wright, Ayres, the racist Harvard professor (By the way Obama's condemnation of the white cop as stupid without knowing any of the facts is blatant racism and discrimination) I would say Obama is racist.

Hi, Kartika. Interesting hub. I keep saying the 'conservative' trolls in the hp forums are projecting...if you tell them the sky is blue, they'd say it's orange...you know when you feel insecurity around you. It's like they take everything out of context and LOOK at everything in a negative frame towards them... However, I never thought to apply this to a grander scale like you have here. Doing that...it sure makes the situation of the Right much more understandable! And I think you are on to something. :) Thanks.

So, other than your magic mind reading powers, what actual evidence do you have of any of these charges? For example, do you have any quotes from the people who come under your citicism attributing certain behavior to "typical" people of a particular color?

Lita, your point about taking things out of context is really important, too! If people can't or are too lazy to consider the bigger picture and the context, then they created their own and that is pretty dangerous!

Oh Kartika, what a relief. So there IS someone in the world who sees reality for what it is? I was afraid that my closest co-horts and I were the only one left.

Big DUH! moment. Of COURSE Glen Beck is a projectionist! What behooves me is 'why on EARTH' do so many people buy into it? What is wrong with these people? You want to stop short and stating the obvious, because of course that would be insulting, but moronic and imbicilic just seem like too light of a description to describe the absurdity of all these Right wingers. How can so many people be of like mind when it comes to the corruption and sabotage of the so called conservatives? "Saying the cops acted stupidly was 'BLATANT' racism"? -Seriously? Stupid is as stupid does. Racially profiling a man entering his own home, kicking his door in and ARRESTING HIM because YOU made the 'oopsie' -that's not Blatant racism AT ALL? Is it?

1. How can they represent Christianity when they preach so much oposition and hate? -Jesus said "render unto Caesar..." Jesus HEALED the sick; It would be easier for a camel to pass throught the eye of a needle than it would for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Did he not acknowledge the poor woman who gave her last coin as offering, and scorn the rich man who made a show out of HOW MUCH $$ he could give? -These people don't represent Christianity. Not with all their rage and anger and hatred. Jesus was none of these things when he walked the earth. He is loving, and forgiving, and patient.

I often ask, 'where were all the protesters when we were bailing out AIG and Citibank? How come nobody picketed the car dealerships when they were fronted cash? -BEFORE 'Cash for Clonkers'?

Kartika you have addressed everyone of my thoughts about the Fox Fiends. Thankyou. I'm printing this out and planthing this every where I possibly can.

There's NO excuse for the hatred that's run amok. OF COURSE IT'S RACIALLY MOTIVATED. These people hate most of all that there is a dark skin person in office. I've never seen such a hatred movement before. I grew up only reading about such things text books during the month of February.

But it's sorely reminiscent of the propaganda footage we used to have to watch in school. When we watched that footage, we couldn't believe those people were so brainwashed.

Since Obama's been in office the only thing that's missing are the hoods and burning crosses. The HATRED AND PROPAGANDA though is ravenous.

Wow! Suffice it to say that we're definitely on the same page. And you have said it so much more effectively and clearly than I could ever hope to.

Yeah! Where WERE all these people who are crying about the Constitution being shredded to bits those 8 years GWB was in office? And where WERE they when our trillions of tax money was being spent on juicy contracts for Halliburton and KBR in Iraq? What about the 3.5 trillion that the Pentagon can't account for? Why didn't they organize a tea party then???

Oh, now that there is a black man in office, why not just blame him for all of Bush's criminal acts and for the destruction of our country? Good scapegoat - take advantage of all the racism in this country to point an accusing finger at someone else! Yeah, the public will go along with that! Plus, they can use it to make themselves look good!

I don't know if they are genuinely racists, or just vipers who know how to use religion and racism to achieve their own ends and to manipulate public opinion to get what they want.

Glenn Beck is pathetic, and his "followers" are unthinking racist morons.

Like Jesus said: "Before you criticize your brother for the mote in his eye, look at the plank in your own!"

That hardly seems like the actions of someone who thinks that brown people are somehow subhuman. Stop playing the race card and get some facts before you really start to see a rise in racism in this country.
