"I want to live" a poem dedicated to aborted babies"
I want to say that this poem is dedicated to the many babies that didn't live through pregnancy. This poem is not to rattle any cages, even though I'm sure some will be; this poem is not to put anyone down for their belief or actions. I'm speaking solely for the babies that can't speak for themselves.
I want to live, just like you
It's the only natural thing to do
At the moment of conception , I was given a new hope.
To pray that I'll be able to cope.
I want to live, just like you
It's the only natural thing to do
To live my life of expectations and dreams
Not knowing whether or not I'll come into being.
I want to live. just like you
It's the only natural thing to do
Your mother's choice was to let you live
The life of yours she wanted to give.
I want to live, just like you
It's the only natural thing to do
I have a heart that beats,now.
and Iook mom, I can breathe
But my lonely journey must come to end , I do concede.
I want to live, just like you
It's the only natural thing to do
You all talk about your choice to kill
What about my choice to live.
I want to live, just like you
It's the only natural thing to do
As I travel down this lonely road , all alone
No one to love me, or call me their very own.
I want to live, just like you
It's the only natural thing to do
I will never be wrapped in a colorful little blanket and carried home.
Or no one waiting with open arms
I want to live, just like you
It's the only natural thing to do
I'm here sitting, waiting in your womb
Knowing I'm in danger awaiting my doom.
I want to live, just live you
It's the only natural thing to do
You gave me a breath to breathe
A little heart that beats
But your choice to kill me, made it all incomplete
I want to live, just like you
It's the only natural thing to do
Here I set waiting like a sheep at the slaughter
To be ripped, mangled and torn apart
I wonder even if my mother has a heart.
I want to live, just like you
It's the only natural thing to do
I did not ask to be conceived, or brought into this world of hatred and shame
but your careless actions has brought me unnecessary pain.
I want to live, just like you
It's the only natural thing to do.

Only a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother could have written this expressive and touching poem.
The line " I'm here sitting, waiting in your womb,
Knowing I'm in danger awaiting my doom."...
really got to me...These unborn children are much more than " viable protoplasm " as some would want to describe...Thank you for this reminder that life, every life, is precious...Larry
Everyone contemplating abortion should read your poem. Your poem stirs emotions. God bless the innocent children.

I love this poem. I hope that it reaches someone who really needs to hear these words. It's beautiful. A baby is still a baby, even when it's in your womb, and as a mother of an unborn child, the very least you can do is give them a chance to live their life.
Thank you stricktlydating, it would be a better world for little babies if every women thought that way. thanks again for your comment and your feedback. Godspeed. creativeone59
I'd loke to ask a question. What do you think jappens to those babies that are aborted. I think they enter heven immediately, or their spirits do, but will they be placed in the womb of a living human being maybe in the millineum. What is your opinion?
I think you might be on to something. thank you for reading my hubs ,I hope you continue. godspeed. creativeone59

This poem really moved me. It is so heartwrenching that thousands of babies will never see the light of day, because of the choices thier parents made to end their lives. I wonder if they ever stop and think about that fact that they themselves are still living and breathing due to the fact that their parents choose life instead of death for them.
