Marilyn Monroe was the epitome of the quintessential Hollywood glamor. Its immense appeal was able to conquer the world, but despite its seductive beauty and her voluptuous curves, Marilyn was more than a sex symbol of the 50s. The apparent innocence of her eyes with her innate sensuality made his image an icon of international admiration for more than a century. The Hollywood star, Marilyn Monroe, born June 1, 1926, with the name Norma Jeane Mortenson, but were later baptized Norma Jeane Baker. His mother, Gladys Monroe, who had limited financial resources, suffered from mental problems. His father was never known.

In search of a more prosperous life for her daughter, Gladys sent to Norma Jeane to live with a foster family. In 1935, after having gone through several of them, Norma went to live in an orphanage. He lived there until 1935. Then, on 19 June 1942, at age 16, Norma Jean married Jimmy Dougherty, a 21 he had met while working in an aircraft assembly plant. The couple divorced in June 1946.

In 1944, Marilyn Monroe was photographed while working for a journalist who did an article on the contribution of women to the economy during the war. The photographer asked permission to take more photos, and without realizing she began her modeling career. In 1945, the beauty of Norma Jeane Dougherty became immensely popular, appearing in the top 33 of the most popular magazines of the time. On 23 July 1946, Marilyn signed a contract with 20th Century-Fox, at a salary of $ 125 a week. After appearing as a pretty face more in several Hollywood, film Marilyn began preparing to leave his image as a "gorgeous blonde" and engage in high-level performance. In 1956, he began studying art with the famous scenic teacher Lee Strasberg, director of the study Actors Studio in New York. During the same year, launched Marilyn Marilyn Monroe Productions with photographer Milton Green. His new company produced "Bus Stop" (1956) and "The Prince and the Showgirl" (1957), films that show Marilyn allowed his new acting ability.

On 29 June 1956, Marilyn contracted in marriage to playwright Arthur Miller. The film "The Misfits" was written by him especially for Marilyn. This was the last complete work of Marilyn. Miller and Marilyn were divorced on 20 January 1961.

In 1962, Marilyn was hailed as the most popular star in the world ( "World's Most Popular Star") with the delivery of Globo de Oro (Golden Globe), reaffirming its reputation and international recognition. On the 4th of August of that year, just 36 years old, Marilyn Monroe died in her sleep at his home in Brentwood, California. The world suffered for their loss. His body was interred in the Westwood Memorial Park, Corridor of Memories, 24, also of Los Angeles.

Marilyn Monroe appeared in 30 films, leaving one of them, "Something's Got to Give" without being completed. But she was much more than a movie star.
