What is the Leaping Bunny Label

The Leaping Bunny label refers to products that have been certified animal testing free and cruelty free by the Coalition For Consumer Information On Cosmetics, a nonprofit alliance that helps consumer choose products in which no animals were used in any way nor harmed in animal testing.

Can you imagine being sprayed in the eyes with harsh soap, every day of your life for hours at a time while people gather to watch and write the results in a notebook?

This is what is done to lab rabbits by some of the largest soap and household product makers even though there are alternative ways of testing these products which have been know about for years.

How about our closest cousins, chimpanzees being shaved, then burned with an open flame, just to see how long it takes to heal.

These animals feel pain, just like we do and even if you don't believe they have all the same rights as humans you wouldn't imagine doing these kind of painful tests to your dog or cat for every day of its life would you?

Animal testing is not just some bleeding heart liberal cause that we should laugh about. It is wrong and even the Catholic church has begun to speak out about it.

We will surely continue to use animals as food and for leather and wool but we can do it humanely and there is no need to do painful tests on thousands of animals each year for frivolous things like new eye shadow when there are scientific means of getting those results without pain to animals.

Looking for the Leaping Bunny symbol, which looks just like a bunny leaping, is one way you can be assured that the product is totally cruelty free.
