Very Poor Quality Toilet Paper -4 rolls all like this

My Review: On Quality of Toilet Papers

Everyone spends thousands of dollars every year on these necessary papers, to flush them down the toilet. Does this tell us something? Maybe the manufacturers think they do not have to bother about quality.

In my opinion, choosing the best for less is virtually impossible. The manufacturers are taking us for a ride. The prices are skyrocketing while the quality is fast deteriorating.

There are so many different brands, offering different options, like one- ply, two-ply, three-ply and virtually no ply. I recently raced into a shop and bought a four pack of black and gold. I was disgusted with it. There are more holes and rips in these, so much so that it is virtually unusable. (See enclosed picture of one section and yes, this was a good part). I have spoken to other people who have had similar problems.

I have been comparing some of these products and this is my results.

Company advertising- versus- my opinion

Black & Gold Strong one ply, 500 sheets 11cm x 10 cm

I found it to be cheap and nasty as you could no doubt see in the above black & White picture. You would need to double or treble it to avoid the holes and it was very stiff.

Kleenex: Soft, and pure white. Two ply 190 sheets- 11cmx10cm

I found it to be: as advertised except less sheets per roll.

Wondersoft : Combination of softness and strength at a sensible price. Two and three ply 210 sheets 10cm x 11cm

I found it to be: Like the perfumed papers, and paper feels like good quality. Less sheets per roll.

Purex: it is strong on softness and comes in many size packs. Two ply, 230 sheets - 11cm x 10cm

I found it to be: good soft and strong

Sorbent extra Environmental friendly, biodegradable and safe for system. Contains some perfume.190 sheets - 2 ply, 11cm x 10cm Made in Australia.

I found this to be not as soft as others did and less amount of sheet per roll.

Maybe we will have to go back to the old days of the Dunnie and recycle all the old newspapers.

I distinctly remember the smell as NOT being very nice, in fact quite the opposite. It did not cost us a fortune, nor kill any of us. I cannot remember if the print wore off onto our butts either.

Question: What does Australian Made & Australian Owned really Mean?

Go to Wondersoft for the answer http://www.wondersoft.com.au/about/productfaq.asp#q5

In conclusion

My choice for the best one would have to be Purex as they have the most sheets per roll. And are good quality, and soft paper.

Let me know your opinions on this matter.

Congratulations on your choice of subjects and the research you have given to it to give us such a worthy topic. I must admit that my expertise on this matter is limited. I will agree that some are not worth the paper they are made of.

Eileen

Perhaps this needs to be linked to my "fun toilet gadgets" HUB. lol But seriously, great research and good recommendations for TP. As for my house, we use SCOTT tissue. Not the softest, but more on the roll for your money.

Heh Heh! Beware cheap toilet paper that gives you allergic burning rashes! You have different brands than we do here - some of ours is "Made in China"!
