Round Area Rug Buying Tips

How To Choose The Right Size Area Rug

Never purchase an area rug without first determining the area and size of the rug needed. To do this, first measure the area. Use a measuring tape. Jot down the smallest size and the largest that can be used in the desired area. You never want to purchase a rug too large or too large. You want to make sure that the room that will house the rug has at least 4 feet from the wall to the rug otherwise the room will feel crowded. A small rug is ok to have as long as it is out in the right place. You wouldn't want to put a small rug under a coffee that does not extend at least half a foot past the table, and even this is cutting it close.

Check For Color Matching

A basic and fundamental issue to consider when purchasing a rug is color. Will the color help or hinder the decor? Your reason for purchasing a rug is generally due to the intent to decorate. When decorating, color matching is essential. You want to make sure the color is a good fit and appealing. Make sure the rug enhances the appeal of the room. Combinations that clearly enhance the appeal should be the focus. Look for colors that compliment each other. Stay clear of colors that clash.

Solid or Patterns

Are you an individual who just simply cannot handle a lot of busy colors around you? Or, are you conservative, solid as a rock? When considering the selection, make sure you are considering what appeals to you. If you feel rushed, totally nervy or disoriented when you see patterns, never purchase a pattern for your home. Solids are the best way for you to go. However, on the other hand, if you love being the individual who is into everything and nothing seems to send you into a tizzy, you might want a mishmash of colors surrounding you. It's simply is all about what makes you tick. The one thing to keep in the forefront is that you want colors to compliment your present decor. One advantage to having a patterned rug is that is will be more difficult to notice any stains that the rugs will most likely get.

Consider The Space

Is your round rug going to be placed in a square location? Great! A round rug in a square area can be and is fantastic. Designers love working with different patterns, shapes and sizes in unique combinations. They have an eye for combining shapes. So, if the area is going to be conducive to a round rug, great. However, if your intent is to place the round rug in a round space, think again. This might not be such a good idea.

Placing A Round Area Rug Under a Table

Are you looking to place the new rug under the dining room table? If the round rug is going to be located under your dining room table or any table, make sure you have a rug that is going to stay in place in addition to measuring large enough to cover the area from the table well beyond the extension of the chairs. Nothing looks worse than a dining room table with a rug too small. Assure that the rug purchased will stay securely under the table. Accidents could occur if the rug happens to move at the most inopportune time
