Rubber wristbands have been around for quite a while, and are great little bits of fun to possess for yourself or for others. Wristbands of simple rubber or silicone can show love, friendship, or appreciation of any kind. They can also support a great cause of any kind as well, and are fun promotional items that are never tired out. Raising money or promoting sports or other organizations, like churches or donation groups, are a great way to use these. Awareness that you can wear on a daily basis is the way to go! Rubber wristbands can be referred to as friendship bracelets, charity bracelets, silicone bracelets, charity wristbands, and many other names.

Rubber Bracelet Features

Comfortable to wear and very durable, silicone rubber wristbands are great if you are looking for inexpensive and colorful jewelry. Both the messages they impart and their appearance have made them a fashion craze by millions for years. Different societal causes have been represented by specific colors, from raising environmental awareness to supporting cures for particular diseases. As opposed to things like mugs, pins, or pens, which would cost a fortune to produce, rubber wristbands can be purchased as low as just a few cents each.

You should know, before preparing to order them, just what rubber or silicone wristbands are. These are loops that are worn on the wrist and made of solid rubber or 100% silicone. They can come in a wide variety of colors and designs, and swirls of different colors can be the most beautiful ones. Some are transparent or flueorescent, while others glow in the dark. You can usually purchase these on many websites and in many stores, and often at wholesale to get discounts- although they come as cheap as one to five dollars apiece, depending on the cause!

Rubber Wristband Trends

The trend of these artistic bracelets, some believe, was started by the Lance Armstrong supported organization, titled Livestrong. Lance used the yellow bracelet to increase awareness about cancer, and breast cancer is represented by the color pink. Some yellow bracelets represented the message "Come Home Soon" for relatives of American soldiers. These bracelets sold in packs of ten, hundreds, or more, and ended up thusfar raising over $25 million. There have been over seventy million Livestrong bands sold so far, and this target of twenty five million dollars was achieved in just six months. Be sure, however, that if you buy this particular wristband to help fight against caner, you are sure where you are buying it from. Many counterfeit organizations pretend they are selling Lance Armstrong bracelets. When wearing once of the Livestrong bracelets you show the world that you care, and that you represent a very important cause.

As previously mentioned, different colors usually have different meanings, besides the personalized ones. Generally, a red bracelet represents AIDS and HIV awareness. Red bracelets have also been recognized for anti-tobacco campaigns, Red Sox supporters, and pro-Bush sentiments before the 2004 election. Orange wristbands have been used to anti-smoker supporters as well, and for MS (Multiple Sclerosis) patients. The color yellow is generally used to Lance Armstrong's cancer awareness and to support troops. Saving the earth and world peace are causes of the green bracelets, and many posses the phrase "SAVE OUR EARTH". One of the most varied colors of all is blue, which represent many causes from child abuse, to bullying, to tsunami relief. Blue has also represented the anti-bush supporters of the 2004 election. Domestic violence and Alzheimer's disease are represented by purple bracelets, while Christian themes and anti-poverty themes have used the color White.

No matter what your cause is for sporting the rubber wristband, you can search for custom rubber wristbands online or generally anywhere and they are a very affordable way to make any statement. You can choose glow-in-the-dark bracelets, colors for a cause, or personalize any message! For many years, any form of appreciation or support has been hosted by this simple piece of jewelry.
