If you are an Avid runner, having a good pair of running shorts will make your running much more enjoyable this season. Here I will review a few of the most popular running shorts and why they stand out above the rest. I will tell you what to look for in a good pair of running shorts, and how to stay as dry and comfortable as possible.

Staying Dry is Easy

If you have decided to take up running or you have been an avid runner for some time now, the importance of a good pair of running shorts is the same. The first thing you have to understand and can make a big difference on how any pair of shorts will fit you is, please leave your underwear at home. Wearing underwear with your running shorts is the same as wearing it with your bathing suit. All good running shorts are made with built-in integral liners so underwear is unnecessary. These liners are usually silky and light weight which will help to stop chaffing and effectively keep you dry by sustaining airflow in the most important areas.

There are a lot of options when it comes to the material of the shorts, but the best material is a material that is soft and breathable. The best shorts material that you can find are the ones that are made with moisture-wick. These breathable Moisture-Wick shorts quickly wick moisture away from the body into the air, making sure you stay dry and comfortable. It is important to keep moisture at bay because chaffing is cause by too much moisture. For the same reason do not buy shorts made of nylon or cotton, since neither has the needed properties to protect you.

If you have a friend that runs like you do, take a look at their shorts and see if they look and feel as good as when they first bought them. If they do, then buying a pair for yourself that is made with similar material is a good idea.

Wearing Moisture wick clothing is also great in wet weather. If the weather is wet but not cold, most moisture wicking shorts will keep your skin reasonably dry. Your short may feel moist to the touch, but unless you have been out in the rain for a long time your shorts should keep you from feeling uncomfortably clammy and cold.

Does the Legnth of the Running Shorts matter?

When it come to the length of your choice, it really is a matter of personal preference.  The only reason you would want to choose a longer style would be if you ten to have a problem with your thighs rubbing together when you run.  If you do, then this can be a cause of chaffing that material would not be enough to fix.

The maximum length that any pair of running shorts would be is seven inches, if they are any longer, they are just considered to be pop fashion.

According to avid runners,  if intending to run a long but slower race then a longer pair of shorts is best, but if you are going to be in a race that is a faster and shorter then a shorter pair would serve the purpose best.
