The protein content of rice, while limited, is higher than other cereals, so that the cereal king is considered the mainstay of the world population for thousands of years, rice is one of the most versatile foods that exist. Contains all eight essential amino acids the human body and is an important source of minerals and vitamins. The rice contains naturally in appreciable quantities and thiamine, riboflavin and niacin, as well as phosphorus, iron and potassium. It contains no cholesterol or gluten, (ideal for celiacs), does not cause allergies and their sodium content is so low that makes it excellent for restrictive diets of these factors, making it healing for those suffering from hypertension, and heart .

Rice soup for the body (and soul)

Ingredient

1 tail of medium chopped pork or pork chops 500g chopped
4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into squares.
1 large onion, peeled and quartered
3 cloves crushed garlic
3 sweet peppers, washed and seeded (or if you like spicy), chopped in two.
1 stalk thinly sliced chives
2 tablespoons annatto oil (or a neutral oil with a teaspoon of paprika powder, lightly fried).
1 cup uncooked rice.
Salt and pepper to taste.
1 bouquet garni (a bundle tied with a bay leaf, a sprig of cilantro, 1 sprig parsley, 1 stalk celery Spain)
2 quarts chicken broth or water.
1 tablespoon rolled oats

Preparation

In a large pot, where he prepared the soup, saute lightly with oil all fragrance ingredients (onion, garlic, chili, chives) include pork meat (tail or rib) and brown slightly, cover with broth or water, add the potatoes, bouquet garni, season and cook for an hour until meat is tender and potatoes are done. Stir in oats and pour the rice, cook until the grains burst. Season to taste and remove the bouquet squeezing its juice on the soup with a strainer. This soup should be espesita and nutritious. Enjoy hot.

Rice and potato bread

Ingredients
3 medium potatoes
1 cup warm water
3 teaspoons yeast
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon margarine
2 ½ cups rice flour

Preparation

Cook potatoes whole in enough boiling water until they're tender, peel and prepare a thick puree. Besides with a cup of warm water prepare a yeast with honey and let stand 10 minutes in a warm place, covered with a cooking stick. At the counter, a mashed potato with rice flour, pour yeast margarine and knead until dough compact and achieve a smooth and soft, a ball and let stand for 50 minutes leavened. Knead again and form a pan, let sit for 50 minutes again. Bring to a moderate oven until ready, about 30 minutes.
