Interestingly, according Live Top List of Norwegian Magnus Carlsen, 17, is already the # 1 ranking player in the chess world. The official FIDE rankings are updated four times a year only, but that page has a better approximation as each tournament is held. Following recent results, and while topping the list are all very close to each other (Carlsen, Anand, Morozevich, Topalov and Ivanchuk) were the young Norwegian has the advantage.

It is the world's youngest player to reach number one, earlier even than Bobby Fischer recalled. Perhaps that is why some dub him the new Bobby Fischer, the Mozart of chess or even 'the child supercomputer.
