Godslittlechild, thank you for your comment.
Hi there, interesting and useful information, but I was under the impression that we get 60% of Adsense revenue, and hubpages get 40%, yet your article says differently am I wrong, or Wikepedia?
Very interesting, thank you.
PS. Just checked on the hubpages help section and this is the quote:
1.Your own Hubs: Hubbers receive 60% of total impressions.
This is pretty close. HubPages does split amazon and ebay revenue 60/40 with authors.
Many people consider HubPages a blogging site, but others don't. Comscore does list HubPages under blogging. We consider it more of a social content site.
Questions you might be afraid to ask about HubPages...Let me suggest a few.
1. How fast does the guy that keeps are servers up ride his motorcycle?
2. How many times has our office been robbed?
3. What happens when Frank (Ryan's dog) visits another companies office?
Golly, now I am confused Paul, I thought 100% of ebay and Amazon revenue went to the authors, but the 60/40 split was based on Adsense revenue! Can you clarify this please???
Quote from "Help" section on Hubpages:
"After you’ve joined the affiliate programs from eBay, Amazon, Kontera, and Google, ads for these companies appear on your Hubs. Any revenue generated during one of your impressions (a click-through with Google, an actual purchase with Amazon or eBay) is 100% yours.
HubPages splits the impressions with you in the following way:
1.Your own Hubs: Hubbers receive 60% of total impressions"
I can see how this can be a little confusing. We splite impressions 60/40 on AdSense and the other affiliate programs like eBay and Amazon. If someone were to click an eBay link on an impression that has your affiliate ID, then you get 100% of the revenue. Now, if someone clicks on an eBay or amazon link on one of HubPages impressions then HP gets 100% of the revenue. Over time, this should even out to a 60/40 revenue split across the revenue generating options.
Thanks Paul, but can you confirm the 60/40 Adsense split is in favour of the hubber/author, and not in favour of hubpages please? Cheers :)
PS Paul, I would so love to know the answers to your suggested questions:
1. How fast does the guy that keeps are servers up ride his motorcycle?
2. How many times has our office been robbed?
3. What happens when Frank (Ryan's dog) visits another companies office?
Are you going to tell us???
mistyhorizon2003, thank you for your comment. The word former have replaced latter signifying that the hubber receives 60% of the Google Adsense earnings and Hubpages receive 40%.
jiberish, thank you for your comment.
mistyhorizon2003, thank you for your comment. The word former has replaced latter to indicate that the hubbers receive 60% of Google Adsense Earnings and Hubpages receive 40%.
Paul Edmondson, thank you for your comment. Additional information has been added to "Things About Hubpages That You Were Afraid to Ask": Hubpages does not split amazon and ebay revenue 60:40 with authors. Your comment is much appreciated indicating that Hubpages is classified as a social content site.
Thanks for that Linda, I just wouldn't want newbies to get the wrong impression, but now the alteration is made I am sure there will be no such confusion. Cheers :)
mistyhorizon2003, thank you for your comment and for bringing up the incorrect use of words that changed the whole meaning of the sentence.
Yes, 60% for authors.
Next time a Hubber comes to the office for a visit and they ask them, we'll answer:)

I just wish I stumbled upon your hubs and other great hubs months ago. Oh well... It's all good. I'm now one of the happy hubbers! Thanks for sharing.
