Got high interest credit cards?

You can save money by shifting high interest debts to 0% balance transfer cards.

You can then pay your debt off a lot faster. Remember to check the balance transfer fee and that you can pay the debt off within the promotional period. Otherwise you could be better off getting a cheaper "life of the balance" card instead to transfer the debt to.

Remember to shop around, some 0% interest balance transfer cards have really long promotional periods, such as over a year! Others only last for 3 to 6 months.

The latest 0% balance transfer card that I got was a Platinum Barclaycard. Despite being offered a limit of £7,000 I was only allowed to transfer £5000 from an existing card to it (including the fee of 2.5 % for the priviledge). They didn't even mention any of this in the application small print. It is important to read the fine print - just don;t expect them to put everything in it!!!

Currently one of the best deals is the Barclaycard OnePulse Card. The promotional period is for 14 months, then the normal APR is typically 14.9%. The cahrge is 2.5% to do a balance transfer to take advantage of the rate.

Which company owns which credit card?

It is useful to know which cards are provided by which lender. If you re turned down for one, it might be worth trying a different lender:-
