Google has free 411 service within the US, where the user can dial Google's free telephone number 1-800-GOOG-411 and ask about the business information. It will give the results directly, either connect you to the business phone number free of charge or send you text messages. The main features of 1-800-GOOG-411 are:

· Search for businesses by name or category - Can't stand typing? Let your fingers rest - GOOG-411 will understand your voice and find the business you're looking for. You can search by name ("Giovanni's pizza") or category ("Pizza").

· Connect to the business directly, free of charge - No need to write down a note or memorize long phone numbers. GOOG-411 lets you connect to the business you choose, free of charge.

· Get more details by SMS - Simply say "text message" and GOOG-411 will send you a text message with more information and a link to a map of the business you've selected, free of charge.

Now this free 411 service has added another great feature called "Map It". After you call 1-800-GOOG-411 and mention the business name, just mention "Map It". Instead of giving the results on the phone, it will send you the text message with a map link. Once you click the link it will show where the business is and even you can call the business from the map itself with a free call connecting you and the business via Google's Phone service.

Hi Mandm, I am sure Google will extend this to other countries. They usually start off on a trial basis in the US and extend it other countries. You should be getting this service soon. Cheers :)
