I’ve always wondered if the little things I do to maintain or preserve my health really made a difference. Well, actually HOW they would make a difference is probably the better question. Who would have guessed that such simple changes can impact your life in such huge ways? So, where can you see yourself making a change to add 2-25 years on to your life?

Areas in which I can improve:

  1. I would have never guessed flossing daily (or caring for your teeth for that matter) could possibly add an extra 6.4 years onto my life! I’ve battled gingivitis for years, so that’s something I will definitely have to put more focus on.
  2. It looks like the most important tip to prolong your life span is to maintain a healthy blood pressure. It shouldn’t be too hard, but just in case your already battling issues with blood pressure, check out DHDSP for tips on maintaining a healthy blood pressure.
  3. For the most part, I’d say I try to live a pretty much stress free life. Do you have a stressful job or living conditions? Different things de-stress different people, so I would suggest finding what works for you and start reducing your stress level ASAP!
  4. I’ve taken vitamins for years. Now I’m taking a liquid vitamin supplements. In fact, GBG 10-in-1 not only is a great multi-vitamin, but it also has 9 other anti aging formulas as well! If you’re not taking a vitamin (especially your essential nutrients), I’d start today. I've also read that juicing and raw diets are highly effective in helping to combat free radicals and provide awesome vitamin and minerals. Juicing for health will also probably help to add a few years to your life!
  5. I could use a little more activity in my life. I found a good series of exercises to lose weight videos an have even considered trying slimming drops. I’ve also been wanting to start running again - now I have a bit more more motivation!
  6. With a curious and crazy 3 year old and usually happy as can be 6 month old, as well as a happy & cheerful heart, I think I get enough laughs in a day. Although more can’t hurt
  7. OK, who couldn’t improve a little on the “eat properly” category. We all slip up here and there, but I have a pretty good grasp of what’s good for me and not and I actually don’t mind staying away from the “bad” foods. But we all deserve to self indulge once in a while, right?
  8. Well, I don’t smoke (thank God!), but my husband does. It’s never in the house, so I don’t have to deal too much with second-hand smoke. And since they made smoking indoors illegal in NJ, I don’t have to deal with it any more when I go out to public places (YES!).
  9. I’ll openly admit - I somewhat dislike the modern medical community. Not all, but most. I am in to natural and alternative medicines. In fact, I want to be a Naturopathic Doctor (LOL). I LOVE anything and all things “natural.” Now, even though I’m not officially a Doctor, I am constantly self-educating and learning about new things regarding health. Many (not all) Doctors go to school, get their PhD, begin practicing, and that’s the end of their knowledge. That being said: I never go to the Dr’s unless I absolutely have to. It seems like the only times I visit a Dr is when I’m pregnant - strictly for checkups and labor/delivery. I’m going to have to make an exception to this “rule.”
  10. I love to learn. I seek wisdom. I seek knowledge. I seek anything my hands can find and my mind can interpret. It keeps my spirit alive. Don’t fall into a rut of not knowing - constantly grow your know! It may add a few years to your life…

Thanks for the comment! Yes, fruits and veggies are a great way to add fiber and natural sugars and vitamins to your diet! And they actually don't taste that bad ;-)
