Without further ado...

Here are the 10 deadliest sharks in the world, as deemed by the Discovery Channel in 2001. Yes, the same channel that will fulfill our need for highly-agressive sharks in late July with 'Shark Week'

10. Lemon Shark

9. Blue Shark

8. Hammerhead

7. Sand Tiger Shark

6. Grey Reef Shark

5. Shortfin Mako

4. Ocean White Tip

3. Tiger Shark

2. Great White Shark

1. Bull Shark

The Bull Shark Was the Deadliest Shark in 2001

Apparently, Bull Sharks can swim in salt water OR fresh water. Males grow to 7 feet, and females grow to 11.5 feet.

Shark Attacks near the Great Barrier Reef are Uncommon

The Great Barrier Reef, one of the world's most visited diver and snorkeling locations is home to many sharks, but is not the setting for the most shark attacks in Australia. That distinction is won by more Southern waters, where the water is significantly cooler - think Southern hemisphere, South means closer to the Antarctic.

While visiting the Great Barrier Reef, keep an eye out for Reef Sharks or Tiger Sharks.
