I don't actually live in Alaska and I have never even visited Alaska but I do want to visit Alaska some day. Here is my list of 10 great things that I would think about if I ever did live in Alaska:

1. Location - The state of Alaska is located on the west coast, to the north west of the province of British Columbia, Canada. Alaska has the Pacific Ocean to the west of it and the Arctic Ocean to the north. Alaska is the northernmost state in the United States. I just think that it would be neat to live in the far, far north.

2. Historic - Alaska was the scene of the big gold rush in the 1800's. A lot of men died while trying to strike it rich because of the extreme weather conditions during the winter months. There is probably still a lot of history to uncover in Alaska and I think it would be fun to be living there while trying to uncover this history.

3. Fishing and Hunting - Alaska boasts some of the best fishing and hunting of the United States. There are thousands of salmon waiting to be caught. There are lots of caribou and whales that can be hunted in Alaska. There are also lots of seals too. I think it would be fun to have to fish and hunt for my food and not have to just rely on grocery stores for my food.

4. Wildlife - Alaska has lots of wildlife. Even though the winter months are very harsh, there is a lot of different species of animals that do thrive in this state. Grizzly bears, polar bears, Arctic wolves, Arctic fox and caribou are just a small example of what you would find in Alaska for wildlife. I love animals so I think that living in Alaska would allow me to see a lot more wildlife than I have ever seen.

5. Mountains - Alaska is home to lots of mountains. I love mountains so I think it would be so beautiful to be able to see tall snow-capped mountains right from your front porch.

6. Log Cabins - Log cabins are the best kind of house that you could have in Alaska. Wood may be scarce in some parts of Alaska because Alaska is situated above the tree line but there are a few different species of trees there. Log cabins are very well insulated so you would be nice and warm during the winter. I love log cablins and I think the ultimate place to have a log cabin would be at a foot of a snow-capped mountain in Alaska.

7. Remoteness - Alaska is very remote because of it's location. Not a lot of people live in Alaska because of this. I would love to live in a remote location like Alaska because then I would be to get away from the busy life that I lead where I presently live now.

8. Peacefulness - Alaska would be considered to be the most peaceful state to live in again, because of it's location. Just seeing the mountains and the wildlife would bring you into a state of peacefulness. I would love to live where peace is just naturally there and part of your everyday life.

9. Healthy - Alaska would be one of the healthiest places to live in the United States as long as you take good care of yourself. The air would be so fresh to breathe. The water would be so clean and pure. I would love to live in Alaska because I could probably live a much healthier life than I have been living.

10. - Safe - Alaska would be a relatively safe place to live as long as you took care and were careful about how you lived. I think Alaska would be safe from terrorism. I don't think that there would be much in the way of crime going on in Alaska because of it's location and the severe winter weather conditions. I would love to live in a state that would be safe to live in.

All in all, I would love to live in Alaska. I think the one thing that stops me though is the severe winter weather conditions.
