10 Helpful Ways to Add More Movement to even Mundane Days
551. Start by always parking further away than you need to. Pick one of the furthest spots from your destination, and simply walk in and out of the building at a brisk pace. This small change can have a big impact on daily activity levels.
2. Play with your kids physically. Don’t just stick to board games and books, but get up, run around chasing them, put on some music and dance with them, or throw around a frisbee with them. Whatever it is, make it active for both you and your kids’ benefit! Demonstrate active ways of playing to be a good role model for healthy living.
3. Dance, dance, dance….if you hear a good song, move. That’s it…just move around. During commercials, get up and put on the radio and bounce around to your favorite tune. Better yet, turn off the TV and dance for thirty minutes, not only to be more active, but to have a little fun and relieve some stress and tension. It really works wonders, and no one cares what you look like, because you will be feeling so good it won’t even matter.
4. Walk around your neighborhood after dinner to get some fresh air and a new perspective. It will clear your mind and help your energy levels.
5. While cooking dinner, perform some calf raises or dance around a bit. One can even sneak some leg lifts into their day while they are cooking dinner. Remember, small changes make big differences.
6. Have more sex. Yes, I said it. I don’t need to list the benefits here, but stay safe.
7. Clean your house. This one doesn’t sound fun, but you need to do it anyway, and cleaning burns calories, so get busy.
8. Work in your garden. Gardening not only is good for your yard, it can be good for your figure too. Make both your yard and your body look beautiful. As you bend, strengthen and tighten your muscles and make sure not to hurt your back.
9. Get up and stretch during your favorite TV shows. This will keep you from being stiff, but will also make your whole body feel better, and will make you more flexible. Stretching also has a funny way of improving your mental clarity and mood.
10. Lastly, get more sleep at night, but wait I thought we were discussing adding more activity into our days. Well, we are. This one fundamental practice can give you much more energy day after day, in turn, giving you the energy to do these things each day.
