Everyone loves going to the cinema to see the latest blockbusters. You always feel a smile coming up when the trademark aroma of sweet popcorn hits your nose. Then it's the task of trying to juggle a huge box of popcorn along with your gigantic sized fizzy drink whilst quietly navigating yourself to your seat. Reluctant to pay the high prices of the pick a mix you will enjoy sneaking your own refreshments that you bought from the local supermarket 10 minutes before you went in.

These are many of the things I associate with going to the cinema, but one of the most important feelings that I associate with the cinema is actually sitting in my seat and being blown away by special effects. Nothing beats the surround sound and enormous screen as you partake in the ultimate cinema experience.

These special effects movies are not made for nothing though and the film producers rely on us going to the cinema to reimburse what they have put in to making the movie and these figures can get sky high. So I have collated some info around the web and you are about to find out what the 10 most expensive movies ever made are (without inflation), so grab your popcorn and turn off your mobile phones.

=8. Titanic $200,000,000

This film is a classic and the soundtrack was just as popular than the actual movie

Terminator 3

=8. Terminator 3: Rise of the machines $200,000,000

A lot to live up to with the other two movies being very successful but I think the movie was well played by an aged Schwarznegger.

Spiderman 2

=8. Spiderman 2 $200,000,000

Spiderman 2 was an excellent movie, much better than the first. The actors feel more relaxed than in the first movie and the well polished CGI techniques in place created one the best hero vs villain scenes with the train fight.

The Chronicles of Narnia

8. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian $200,000,000

I enjoyed this film a lot more than the first, it's a lot darker and the plot has more twists.

Superman Returns

7. Superman returns $204,000,000

This film blew me away with superb acting and special effects, the twist in there also looks promising for a lot of future superman movies. I hope they can resolve any issues they have at the moment and get cracking on making the sequel.

King Kong

6. King Kong $207,000,000

If you didn't cry in this film then you should be ashamed of yourself. The game on the PS2 was incredible and so was the movie. This is down as one of my all time favourite films.

X Men: The Last Stand

5. X-Men: The Last Stand $210,000,000

Again, what a film. The special effects in all the x-men films have been superb and they have peaked in the (potentially) last film.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

4. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest $225,000,000

The sequel to the first proves that things can get better, this movie was thoroughly entertaining from start to finish.

Quantum of Solace

3. Quantum of Solace

$230,000,000

This movie had a lot of hype to live up to as Casino Royale was such a success; this however, did not live up to the first movie but was still enjoyable.

Spider-Man 3

2. Spider-Man 3

$258,000,000

Spiderman 3 obviously took the fancy of every comic book fanatic around the globe but for me, it didn't even touch the sides.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

1. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

$300,000,000

One word - ENTERTAINMENT. How can something progress as much as these films have done? One of the most entertaining films ever and it has something for everyone.

I have never seen "Quantam of Solace however I have seen all of the others as I have a son who loves Spiderman and King Kong however they sure did spend major dineros on these movies, I guess they had to pay the stars. Lol. :)

I'm not even sure if the budget included the stars wages, or even the production teams wages for that matter.
