Money Saving Tips

Everywhere people are starting to really panic because of money issues. People just don't seem to have money anymore and are just drenched in what seems to be mountains of debt. What many of these people don't realize is all they need, is a plan.

In order to really get a plan rolling, you need a platform to build off of.

Here are 10 Practical Money Saving Tips

  1. Cut Food Costs - The first step in cutting food costs is first figuring out how much money you are spending and on what. Once you figure that out, see if you are making unneeded purchases. A quick tip is to make a list before you go to the grocery store. A solid list of only the essentials will stop rash spending.
  2. Cut Coupons - A quick way to start dropping those costs and save more is by cutting coupons. If you have some time, cut coupons. Remember time = money!
  3. Cut Up Your Credit Cards - You don't need to borrow money from credit cards. It is as simple as just carrying cash around with you. A way of getting used to keeping cash is to keep cash in envelopes and write what the money will be used for on the envelope in big letters. Don't use the money in your food envelope to buy cloths or vice-versa!
  4. Don't Buy Books - There is no reason why you should have to buy a book (unless you are taking a class). If you want to read something check out your local library or borrow from a friend.
  5. Don't Just Buy In Bulk Because You Can - Even if you are shopping at a discount store, you might not really be saving. Do the math to see if you are really saving.
  6. Pay Off Your Debt - If you have some harsh debt to be paid, focus on the debt before you start saving your money. If you leave the debt you will end up paying more in the long run.
  7. Sell The Things You Don't Use - If you don't need something and it is in good enough condition to keep using, then sell it. You can do this either through eBay, or just a simple garage sale/yard sale. It is a great way to get rid of some old things without feeling like you wasted something by throwing it away.
  8. Simplify Your Diet - You might have to start eating so elegantly if you want to start saving money. If you are in debt then cut off eating out altogether, and if you are in deep debt, start eating rice and beans. If you really NEED to save, getting dire is the way to go.
  9. Stop Browsing - If there you don't need to go out and shop, then don't. You don't need what ever you are looking at, so why look? This will stop wasteful spending.
  10. GET SERIOUS!!! - If you are serious in saving money, then you will have to learn to live a little more frugally now for benefits later.
