Most likely, you started off without having a proper financial goal or right attitude in dealing with your money. 1. Calculate the total debt that you have incurred which you required to pay back. List all your creditors, debts and the minimum amount of payment for each debts you need to pay each month. This list is your big picture of your current financial situation and you can get out of debt.

2. Stop using the credit card until you have fully cleared the debt on the card.

3. Plan a realistic budget for your daily expenses based on your current financial situation. List down the necessities such as groceries, mortgage, car payments, utilities and credit cards. Remember, spend within your budget.

4. Use the extra money to repay your debts. Do not use it to spend other luxury expenses.

5. Make sure you are able to pay at least the minimum monthly credit card payments. Do not miss any as it will affect your credit score.

6. Always pay off the highest interest rate credit card first. If there is a cara that has a balance over your 50% of your credit limit, you may want to pay that first to reduce to less than 50% of the limit. After the card is paid off, cut the card and close your account. Next, you start to pay the next highest interest rate credit card. Continue with this strategy until you have completely paid off all your credit card debts.
