Generating leads through the internet has become a must for anyone who wants to succeed in a Network Marketing (MLM) business using New School methods of attracting customers and prospects to them.

Savy Network Marketers are ditching their names lists, stopped buying leads and are flocking online to learn internet attraction marketing to attract their leads to them.

If you've been on Facebook recently you'll see that this has become a veritable bee-hive of network marketer activity. Most people are online there to attract prospects through various social media available to them today.

And this is only the beginning.

Network Marketers are flocking in droves to the online world- and most haven't a clue what to do.

I put together 10 tips that I think are the most important points to bear in mind when marketing online.

Of course, if you are new to this, you'll need to go through a course on Internet Attraction Marketing and get some expert guidance on exactly how to do this.

But just to wet your appetite, here goes.

Generate Internet Leads for MLM: 10 Tips

1. Know your target market

When you start generating leads for your MLM business, it is really important that you know your target market intimately Put yourself in your prospect's shoes. What are they thinking and talking about? What are their concerns, worries, fears, challenges and pains? What are their problems you can help them solve?What are their dreams, aspirations, goals, desires? This will help you connect to them in a genuine way and really help them solve their problems.

2. Don't spend money on advertising until you know what you are doing.

When you start browsing the internet, you will find many resources and methods of generating leads. These will include the paid ones as well as the free ones.

Paid resources and methods include tools such as Google Adwords.

These seem much easier than writing an article or setting up a blog, (and they are!)- but its better to start with free/low cost resources (blogs, forums, ezinearticles and tools such as web 2.0.), because if you don't know what you are doing, with Pay-per-click, you can loose money and not generate any leads.

Web 2.0 is an amazing new technology that has made it more than possible for network marketers to reach their prospective customers in a very dynamic (free) way.

Giving a new look to social networking and online marketing, web 2.0 allows users and network marketers to share information through online audio and video conferences and other innovative means of online collaboration.

It has enabled the network marketer to promote and expand their business online and reach a large audience very easily.

Websites such as youtube.com, Googlemaps, Google.video and yahoo websites are all based on web applications or web 2.0 technology.

3. Have Good copywriting skills

Copywriting is the equivalent of your Presentation- online.

In order to attract more prospective customers to your website; you need to awrite in a way that engages your reader and draws them in.

This is crucial to position yourself as a professional marketer and leader in your industry, as well as to push those psychological buttons to get your prospect to take action, fill out a form to opt into your list, or buy product from you.

It helps build up trust and increase conversions during email campaigns.

Writing with pull...pulling your prospects into your network is vital to ultimately attract people into your business or product.

Excellent copywriting skills are a sure fire way of generating leads.

4. Search Engine Optimization

Your copywriting or content needs proper search engine optimization.

To increase your search engine ranking, use keywords that are relevant to the topic and popular among your target market, set the keyword priority and density, focus on the most valuable keyword.

Also use the keywords naturally and make a lot of sense, keep it simple and in accordance with your reader's understanding, and write what your target audience is looking for.

Linking strategies are the secret. linking your "web of content" to each other and to other high ranking sites will increase your ranking.

Bookmarking is another great way to get your content ranking higher on the Search Engines.

5. Know how to create effective Lead capture pages

Lead capture pages are very important when it comes to your MLM business.

It is here where you convert your prospects into qualified leads that enter your marketing pipeline.

It is here that they opt in to your list, giving their contact details and permission to put your offers infront of them.

These leads then go on to become your regular customers by buying your products and services. You want the highest conversion rates here...and there are a couple of do's and don'ts with lead capture pages, that can really get you off to a good start.

6. Get trained by experts

If you dont know how to do it, get trained. Invest in yourself and go to the experts. Find a programme that is aimed at beginner level, in easy to follow bite size tutorials that show you visually how to set your marketing up.

Make sure it's low cost.

Once you have the skills, you have value to offer the market place...and you will have established yourself as a leader in the business. Now that's attractive!

7. Domain registration

Having your own domain name has the effect of presenting yourself as a professional.

It also gets you relevent prospective customers.(The one's you want!)

Using proper domain names for your business will also enhance your search engine rankings.

Registering a domain name that masks an afilliate url is especially important. This way,you are not seen as just one of the many affiliates, but rather as a unique individual. It makes a difference.

8. Market yourself as a leader

Remember! Network marketing or MLM business is not really about selling your products or services on the web. Rather, it's about selling your self as a leader.

Its about adding value to those network marketing products you sell.

For example, my network marketing reps get free training on how to put their MLM's online. That's the value I add to their experience. They see me as a leader because I teach them how to run a successful business.

How do people know you are a leader?

Because you position yourself as an expert in your field.

You do this by providing content rich, valuable and helpful information to your target audience, answering questions and providing solutions for their needs.

Think about it: Would you rather join a sales person, trying to flog his/her business opportunity? Or an expert in an area of business you happen to be interested in- someone who can show you the ropes?

In the MLM business, people join you because you are the leader and not because you have the best products or business opportunity.

9. Follow up with leads

In order to stay in touch with your potential customers you need to follow up with leads.

A drip email system is a useful tool to convert long term leads to sales through automated emails.

10. Track your efforts

Another useful tip in generating leads for your MLM business is to track your efforts to identify and learn from your mistakes.

Learn from your mistakes and don't make them again.

The more you learn, the more you will grow.

Tracking and reporting tools are invaluable- helping you know what is more effective (keywords, layout, fields in a form etc).

The tiniest variable in your campaign can have a huge difference in your click through rate. Know those variables and know which ones work best, so you can replicate and keep on improving.
