1. Replace all lightbulbs with energy saving bulbs. They work and use only 13 watts instead of 60 or more.

2. Do not buy prepackaged food. That is more stuff you have to through out. Buy your fruits and vegies fresh.

3. Use reusable shopping bags, they are made of cloth and do not have to be thrown away.

4. Drive 55 it really does conserve fuel. Just don't do 55 in school zones. LOL

5. Buy a ceiling fan and use it. It circulates the air and you can then crank up the A/C to a higher setting to conserve fuel.

6. Turn down your water heater just a few degrees.

7. Make sure your windows are properly insulated. Maybe adding some fresh caulk or hanging some curtains can improve the efficency of your heating and air unit.

8. Shop at farmer's market for food. That cuts down on the transportation effect on the air. Your supermarket food started out hundereds of miles away at a farm. They put the food on a truck to a processing plant where it was processed and cleaned. They put it on another truck and sent it hundreds of miles again to a supermarket distribution center where they put it on another truck to get it to your store and then you drove your food home. Farmers market foods take one trip from farm to market and one from market to home. Less gas consumption.

9. Always do a full load of Laundry it is more energy effiecent.

10. Try converting your lawn to a water free garden. Like desert landscape or rock garden. You can also instal a rain drip system where it collects rain from your roof top and feeds it to your grass.
