10 ways you can use Google Analytics to get Traffic and Money
1. You can track individual hub page traffic: Yes, you can track the traffic flow for each and every hub page in depth. So, if a hub page of yours is getting more traffic, you can see where the visitors come from, who is referring your hub page, how many other pages they see in your site.
2. Which sites/blogs referred your hub pages: Hub pages traffic information (in your "My Account My Hubs page) show which are the referral sites that give you traffic. But, with Google Analytics, you will be able to measure which page exactly sends you traffic to which of your hub. So, you will know where to advertise your next hub. For instance, if it is forum that sent you the traffic, then all you need to do is to go and post that you have published a new hub.
3. You will know where your readers live: Google Analytics will show where your readers live. You will able to see the visitor's geographic location at different levels such as National, State, City. When you know your majority of the readers come from a particular country, you can write targeted hub page articles to them. They would love it.
4. You will know how often your visitors comeback: Google Analytics will show the visitors in two categories, New visitors and Returning visitors. New visitors usually arrive from an external website or through a search engine, when they find your article useful, they would bookmark your hub page profile to come back later. If you get more such "Returning visitors", then you can say you are becoming popular as a writer. If not, you need to work on to improve the quality and usability of your hub page articles and publish more useful articles.
5. You will know the keywords: With the search engine traffic, you will get know what keywords are best for each your hub pages. Google Analytics will show you what keywords your visitors used in their search to find your hub pages.
6. How many hub pages they visited: You may have 20 or 30 hubs, but you would like to know when a visitor arrives from an external site, how many other hub pages he/she would visit. As all of your hub pages have your unique tracking code, you will be able to tell how many other hub pages of yours got more visit.
7. How much time they spend: This is an important factor if you are serious about improving the interestingness of your hub pages. Interestingness refers to the aesthetically design of a hub page. If your visitors stay for a long time, they consider the hub as useful and entertaining, if not improve on it.
8. Where they come from and to where they go: Google Analytics will show you the Top Landing pages and Exit pages, which will give an indication of which attracted visitors to your hub pages. Those hubs are your special and best hubs (from visitors point of view) and you need to promote them in new locations in the web. They will get you the attention to all your hub pages and they will form the main drivers of traffic.
9. How often they bounce: If a visitor arrives at your page and then immediately closed the browser and exited the page, Google Analytics will consider it as a "bounce". The bounce rate is another measure of interestingness of you hubs, if the title is misleading or the content is not in the format the users wanted, they would exit within a short time. High bounce rates are not good for you, so you need to investigate those hubs and fix any errors or add pictures to make them more attractive.
10. What to write in future: Many of the hubbers do not know what to write next. In such circumstances, visit your Google Analytics page and see which hubs fall in the "Top Content" category and also the "Top keywords" that drive traffic to your hub pages. Use the keywords to write more similar hubs.
